Utah!

Oh no another chick turned into a roo? Ugh! At least it made you laugh instead of cry~!

I have four silkie/showgirl chicks in the bator, still going. Hope they are not all boys!

Blu, good luck with the hatch! Lots of eggs, I hope you get lots and lots of chicks. Cynthia, what is stopping ya?! Get some eggs in there girl!

Daloorashens, I see you look like you are being persuaded into hatching....what kind do you think you will start out with?

Come on EE..waiting to see what colors everyone is getting from these girls!   Anyone else get the white EE leghorn mix?  That are hens?

I got one from Mesha...and she has a couple still I believe...but my girl was one from Moriahquilts., she said they were a few weeks behind yours. ;) So I am counting the days. Mine has turned quite red! woot!

Red are you running lights? That may be the difference.

I've been sticking a couple of my girls in the garage with lights on to see if it does anything. All it did was make the EE chatty

My Leghorn squats now, but I think she's just teasing me. I don't have lights out in the coop.

Mimi, they can make some pretty funny sounds when they start crowing. One of my Ameraucana's was trying so hard, he actually shrieked. My EE roo couldn't figure out what the heck was going on.

Oh man! I believe Bandit, is my chickens "sister" the EE's Cynthia hatched just before Christmas lol....remember "fatface" the belly walker Cynthia? I still have her. Her eggs are huge indeed. but mine is green, she came from a green egg, and there were others that came from blue in those eggs. Was Cowgirl the breeder? Cannot remember, so many! That is too funny, it is a small world for sure. Madchicken, I LOVE the polka dots down her front.

Come to think of it, I cannot name anybody on here that does NOT have a chicken hatched by Miss Cynthia....

The xmas babies...

and all grown up!
wow. the grown up pictures are really close. i cant find a baby picture but it has to be.

Madchicken, your Bandit is absolutely gorgeous. I love her!

Blu, good luck with your hatch.

Lisa, glad your hatch is going well.

Mimi, I love the beginning crows. They're so funny. Well, not quite as funny if you didn't know the gender beforehand.

I am very lucky because I have someone taking all eggs my birds lay this week and hatching them for a science experiment. So, I don't have any of the work of hatching, but I'll get to watch.

Ok, I've tried posting a couple of times..hasn't worked..testing here. Hope I haven't posted twice before!!

Ok, it went. Hmmm...? It isn't even late.

TMC, I told you that I thought Lisa still had one from that hatch. That one looks to have wyondotte in her, does the lacy one lay green eggs?

Red, try that pepper I've been reading about on here. Come on chickies!

Lisa, I remember that little bum walker. I've had a few of those that have a time getting steady on their feet. I think it's cute. :)

One of my show girls was not doing so good yesterday, I brought her in the house and she is now living in a kennel. Its not that cold in cluckingham palace 40 degrees. She has always been smaller of the two.I gave her an antibiotic injection and a little steroid, Ed brought me my christmas present today. A trio of Seramas from North Carolina, They are being shipped tomorrow and will get here Wed. I'm shipping one of my sphynx to Hong kong on Wed. The decrowed Rooster tried to crow today. The sound was very soft. Hope everyone is ok with the cold. I am house bound so i spend way too much time on the computer. love everyones pictures keep them coming When my new babies get here I'll take pics. I hope to go to chicken stock. Depends if I have kittens and or chicks due I really want some black copper marans.

I don't think my hens are liking the cold and snow....I have only gotten 1 egg in the last 2 days.

They were doing so well. Darn it.

I will be getting rid of one of the cuckoo maran hens soon. I am keeping the one that lays darker eggs, the other has been a lighter brown egg. Pretty good size egg though.
I just separated them so I can figure out which is which. So if anyone is interested let me know.

I just got my still air incubator. So I have a few weeks to get it running and stable for lockdown.

Mine are being very stingy with eggs as well. I wonder if it is because it has been so dark! I have hardly seen the sun in.....(alot) of days. I went back and forth trying to figure out what happened to my flock last week, I was thinking overdose of ACV, but I do think I had a couple with a cold as well. They are all better now, everybody is over it, but there were definitely some sneezing and runny noses going on last week. Did not seem to be too strong of a bug though. That may have affected their laying as well. The eggs I AM getting are returning to normal color, they were so light for a few days it was really weird! Now they need to just lay more of them. I have 22 layers, 3 are broody, 4 have completely quit for a few weeks I think due to the molting, and so of the fifteen remaining I am getting 5 or 6 a day, for about 5 days now. This morning a lot more were sitting in nests, so maybe it will turn around!

Did you set any cuckoo eggs or just the FBC? They looked pretty dark so I was thinking they are all FBC. I cannot wait to see what color the little mixes from your older Am Hen look like. I bet they will be so cute! I love hatches that have mystery chicks, the anticipation is fun.

Hope your showgirl turns around! It is great you can give them the meds to help them...Seramas sound fun! I can't wait to see the pics. If you are wanting some of Michelle's chickens be sure to let her know, she gets a waiting list going :) That is too bad the others did not make it!
Hong Kong? Holy cow that is something else, the world has changed so much with the internet and computers, 20 yrs ago it would have been unheard of to sell a cat from Little old Utah to Hong Kong! Pretty cool
