Utah!

I am so wildly jealous of you incubators. I'm dying to set some of my legbar eggs, but trying to resist the urge. Maybe I'll save her eggs for a week and do it anyway.

Lisa, glad your dh wasn't hurt at all in that standoff. I heard about it on the news and it sounded so scary.

Keep all of the end of world stuff coming, I'm getting a huge kick out of it.

I'm beginning to think that Fonzi, my BCM/GLW cockerel isn't a cockerel. Lisa said she thought it was a pullet, and I laughed, but now I'm not so sure. 16 weeks tomorrow:

And since tomorrow is the start of the end of the world

Well since the zombie apocalypse didn't happen were back to this one.

Phoenix, I love your sense of humor. Too funny.

Sphinx, The Fonz might be your next LaVerne lol. Don't you have a Shirley? That'd work! You do need to get some eggs going girl, you would sell legbar chicks in a snap I am sure. Then you get to have fun hatching and not have velociraptors in your front room. Because we just love it when that happens, yes?

Cynthia, your eggs sound fun. Perpetuating the legacy of the late RIR roo. That is pretty cool now, isn't it? Let us know how Austin is, hope you get that letter!

Hattie, long time no see/hear! Glad your eggs are doing good~! Can't wait to see the itty bitty babies.

I have news! Our two daughters are due soon, and the first one is going in tonight to get started. So, A new grandbaby girl for me on the first day of the end of the world :/ That will be a fun birthday to tell her about when she is older :D "Zoey Mae" will be her name. (So long as the ultrasound was right!)

Gary, looks like we will be grandparents on the same day! Woohoo on your new chickies! Go Apricot, go!

Lastly--I have narrowed my three musketeers down to two. I actually have the one in mind to keep, a paint, but don't want her to be lonely til I have more chicks, so I am keeping the solid white too with her for another couple weeks. That leaves one to sell for now .....if anybody wants one :) It is a paint showgirl, with a cute paint spot above her left eye and several across her back and rump. No clue on sexing these, they are completely identical, the combs are all the same..wing feathers look the same...same exact size and temperament, very sweet silkie temperament. Cuddly little babies. With pink and black speckled skin :P PM me if you are interested!

No. The Maya people NEVER said the world would end.... The Maya Calendar just STOPS because it's a new cycle... it clicks over to 13.0.0.0.0... it's the 13th B'ak'tun. It's kind of like how the calendar stops at December 31st. We don't think the world will end... it's just tome for a NEW calendar. Tomorrow will be 13.0.0.0.1 and the next day will be 13.0.0.0.2 and so on... They count in a base 20 system, Days are on there as the last number, then a Tun is about a year (360 days) then the next place up is a K'atun, which is 20 Tun, or 7200 days. Next up is a B'ak'tun, which is 20 K'atun, which is 144,000 days.

Threre's one for you, and if this is right, it didn't stop today, it happened a couple of years ago. :)) :))

Yes! Got a letter. He is doing well, sounds so happy. He loves the GA people. Of course, his being happy, makes us happy.

Oh, so we have someone else that is hatching. aunti..you have some cute babies coming..bantams. Cute for sure.

Go Sphinx go! lol...you know you want to, legbars..I want one! Lisa, you are the tempting one now..a paint showgirl? Oh if I could be sure it was a girl.

Gary, keep us updated!

Wheeee! Greetings from the preserve. Get ready to be inundated by pictures and videos, because I've got a lot of 'em!

And here's the link in case youtube is being naughty:

I can't believe how much my birds' voices have changed since I took this.

Still catching up on posts. Sorry for the flood of pictures, guys. Lisa, I'm glad your hubby is ok! I saw that news article on KSL yesterday. I have some things to say about guns and our rights, but I won't go into here in case it causes trouble.

Picture time! These are the most recent ones that I have of a lot of my flock. I took a bag of popcorn out into the garden to watch chicken tv and got mobbed. It was a workout, but thoroughly enjoyable!

The two turkeys, Petey on the left and Punkin on the right. Petey has pumpkin mush on her face, hehehe.

You know, Dotty - you aren't as small as you used to be.

Serah wants to know if she can have some popcorn.

Gunther, one of the Icelandic boys. Ain't he pretty?

Sven, my other Icee boy.

Flekka, the oldest Icee pullet. Cynthia, she's the "tiny tot" I got from you a while back

She is such a sweetheart!

Peach

Partial group shot. There's Summer, one of the Icelandics I got from Hattie on the left. Behind her are one of the turkeys and the three BR's I got from Lisa. Next over is Lark, my RIR, and then Serah, the EE.

Jemma, my blue Ameraucana.

Turkey.............um......butt cheeks.....

More of a perspective view here to show how big the turkeys are. That's Petey Bigfoot on the left, with Emile, one of the BR cockerels on her right. Emile is the one I recently rehomed.

Lisa, here's Lenny. He's the deformed chick. He isn't leaning to the side or moving his neck here - he always looks like this. Quite a fun little fellow.

Madchicken, hooray for babies!!

Sounds like a lot of people are having fun on the incubating scene. We're going to have chick picture overdose before too long....
