Utah!

Sundance, no - I haven't called animal control. Would they have a record of if they picked up some chickens two weeks ago? It really makes me mad that the chickens keep disappearing. I know there are hawks out there, but surely you'd think we'd find a pile of feathers or blood somewhere in the yard if they were getting picked off. Both the boys that disappeared were good-sized chickens. They weren't small or light at all. I am telling you, if I find out that neighbor has been messing with my animals, it will not be a happy day for him

Awww Birdguy, how could you do this to me? I had a dream last night that I ordered chicks and got two ducklings by accident, and they were so cute. And then I hop on here, and what do I find?

Sphinx, I'm glad that your cracked egg is doing okay so far. Hopefully the baby makes it through alright. That would be awesome!

Blu, love the baby goat! I worked at an office once that was an old farmhouse, and the neighbor had a pair of pygmy goats. They had a baby in the middle of winter that was black and white, and she was sooooooo cute!

I need to go back and read posts... but I posted my water heater on the NYDH #4 contest for most ingenoius chicken design contest thingy.... vote for me if you like it

I have 3 more pips, the one is still not out. I am afraid I am only getting FBCM, none of the Ameraucana are moving.

I decided I needed exercise so I went out and attempted to clean my coop. I had spilled the watered inside a couple of weeks ago and the shavings and manure were pack like bricks. I found a scraper we had and used it to scrape it. Worked good. Of course the door was open so the chickens could go out in the yard. we have over a foot of snow so most of them chose to stay and supervise the cleaning project. When I was bent over they kept getting on my back and pecking at my boots. It took me a lot longer than need be but I didn't have the heart to kick them out because they were so dang cute. One hen came and sat on my feet. I was watching her for a minute and she started to cackle, She had laid an egg on my foot, Besides the fact she had nice clean nest boxes, Silly girl, When I was done they were happily spreading the new shavings and clucking around. Took me about an hour but I really had a good time. Hubby kept checking on me and hauling the bags of used shavings away, When I was done I went outside and looked around. There was a huge hawk on the power pole in my yard, I couldn't leave the chickens out so the ones that were outside playing got put inside for their protection, That hawk is still out there biding his time. Lots of pigeons and doves around I'm sure he will get a meal. Just not my chickens

Ok, went back and read... CUTE goat!!! and CUTE ducklings!! Someday I'll have some of each.. just not this year....

Nothing on my eggs yet, but I set them late, so I wasn't really expecting anything until toniteish anyway... but I still had kind of been hoping for some early hatchers... not to happen, oh well!!
