Utah!

I'm glad you like the drawing. I don't draw people very often and in fact, it's been a long time since I've done a pet portrait.
Wait, what? What happened with the horse?
One of my husbands shire mares just up and died for no apparent reason. It's a devastating loss. She was part of a matched team. I can tell that her sister misses her.

You are so talented, I so admire people who are artsy and crafty. Sorry about your horse. Thats really sad. I was a professional horse trainer for many years. and know how horses can hide issues that are really serious

Hey Cynthia! You know the Welsummer I got from you last year, for my mom? She laid today! First egg from her! I went out after I got home from work to collect eggs in the coop, and I ducked down to see if there was anything in the run. I could see some kind of lump that looked like a mud-covered egg, so I fished it out. Sure enough, it has lovely brown speckles all over it, even though it's scratched from being kicked around like a foozball. I just had to share that with you!

I didn't know about your horse! So sorry for your loss. It's so hard. I bet that sister is missing her!

Yes, they were housed together as a pair. It's very sad to see Tina alone. I think I'm going to put her favorite quarter horse friend with her. We have a QH who loves Tina and thinks that she herself is a draft horse.

Pawtraitart, I didn't know about your horse either. I'm so sorry for your loss. That would be so hard.

Red, congrats on the new egg layer!!! I have to admit I'm wildly jealous of all your eggs. I think I only have 2 chickens laying- the RIR and the speckled sussex. Everyone else quit. I think I got one more egg from my legbar after collecting for hatching, and then nothing.

Something else I recently realized- you guys were talking about how your chickens still try to dust bathe. Mine don't even leave the hen house unless I bring treats out to them, and they have to be left close to the hen house or they don't even get those- 90% of my run is pristine, untouched snow. If I toss something further out in the run, they ignore it.

My FBCM finallly decided to start laying again today!! Check out this beauty!!

L to R Easter egger, Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, FCBM, Icelandic, & Delaware... the one in the center is also a Delaware... it is weird cuz it is almost white until you get it wet and then it is brown but it dries back white!!!

Michelle- my heart breaks for you. We so enjoyed seeing those beautiful sisters together. How awful! What an amazing talent you have, I envy you!

Cynthia- that is a touching memorial, looks like a very loving & loyal dog by the body language
