I can't wait to see your Houdans
smile.png
I have had mine ordered (for march 4) since November, I am so excited to get them, you get yours first so you should post pics for us! I will get lots of Houdans, a few NN, WCB polish, Pure white polish, and some brown layers. I have never had a chick order before so I can hardly wait! I was waiting til March to allow for the weather to warm up, or I would have gotten them sooner....there will be so many I want to be able to get them outside at 4 weeks or so rather than the garage.

Cynthia has a friend hatching frizzledTolbunt Polish. I am hoping to get a smooth one from her....if not I will try to hatch some and see if you want any

Cyndiloo, you have some fun eggs! What are the Super Blue? are those leghorn/ameraucana mixes? I love those and would get chicks from you if that is what they are and you have extras for sale....I got one from Daloorashens and she lays the biggest egg of all my flock, everyday, love her <3 They are more green than blue, but they are great to put in my 'selling eggs' due to the size. Dying to know if that is what you have there....

You know how I adore the frizzled, I am getting a couple of Frizzled Serama pullets from California. Very pricy but worth it I think I am going to have Seramas coming out of my ears

Haha sounds like it! That will be fun for you though, you should surround yourself with the things you love!

Now cyndiloo has me surfing around for leghorn/Ee eggs lol. I am usually not an impulsive person but when it comes to chickens I can't believe how ridiculously impulsive and excited I get :p

They are white leghorn covered by lavender Ameracauna. You are welcome to some when they hatch! :)
I have room for only one or two. I think they turn out beautiful!
The listing is still up on Byc. Lots of pics.

Found this paw print at the entrance to the barn. It wasn't there when I collected eggs, but was there an hour later when I tucked them in for the night.

Large raccoon?

Never seen a racoon track quite that big... usually the toes would push well in to the snow. I think that it could be where a bird took off making marks in the snow with its primary flight feathers.. Just a Guess

I have received all of my fertile eggs and into the incubator they go!
Sundance -you scared me with your egg shipment story because I live so close to you and I was just about to have mine sent. This time it turned out great, only 1 broken out of all 73 of them.
They were shipped from 3 different breeders and all arrived at the same time! Plus, our mealworms came that day too! Happy Day!

They have all rested and are cooking!

Here they all are!!!

WOW, that's a lot of eggs! NICE!! I hope you will keep us updated on your hatch.

Sundance, how were things at the vet clinic? My plan is to meet up with you tomorrow (Saturday) if that works for you? I'll bring all my chicks down and we'll have a party. LOL How many BCM chicks do you have?

Cyndiloohoo, that is a TON of eggs. The BBS marans eggs are GORGEOUS. That is what I need more of- super dark brown eggs. I had to do a search to see what those looked like. Pretty birds. I'm intrigued by both the lav/am leghorn and the BBS. Decisions, decisions.

There's a feed store up here by me that's dying to get in some FBCM chicks to sell. If anyone wants me to act as middleman, I'm happy to.

I need to start thinking about how I'm going to separate my birds out for fertile egg time. I have a FBCM, a golden laced polish, and a Legbar rooster. I know the polish is going to go in the tiny coop, and could have a max of two hens with him. And obviously my FBCM, polish and legbar hens will go with their pair. But, where should everyone else go? I have (divided by egg color):

Lavender Ameraucana

Olive Egger (bcm x lav am)

Rhode Island Red
BLRW
Coronation Sussex
Speckled Sussex

Wellsummer Mix

Oh Cyndiloo you got me started. I was looking at eggs late last night... I found some eggs and I am going to just hatch a batch, haha :) They should be easy to sell on KSL. Be sure to let us know what you have for sale after your hatch! Did you get yours from DMrippy? That is who I was asking about the eggs, a bit of a wait list but not too bad. I cannot wait to see your chicks too!

Moriahquilts, that print is ridiculously big, if it is NOT a bird, it would be a big old critter....hmmmm......

Sphinx, what about putting the lav and the olive egger with the FBCM roo to get more olive and dark olive eggers? But a lav/legbar cross might turn out pretty cool looking too :)
