Cyndiloo--Last Year Cynthia12 hatched Naked neck Turkens and a few hatched that were fully feathered around the neck. So they were dubbed the Non NN or Un NN's

Michelle, what kind/color of Polish are you hatching? Are they LF or bantam? Fun!
I'm attempting to hatch LF Crele Polish.

Nice eggs! My green EE is molting and only lays around 2-3 eggs a week. Out of all the colors green is my favorite.I wish i had a few more hens that lay the green.

I have some babies! Come and get a girl. I only need one, and now, I think I am going to be over run with olive eggers!! Yaay, I will have a few out in my yard this summer. Different colors. I want one of Red's to be a buff girl so bad. That would be nice. I saw a picture of her buff. Pretty girl. And to think, she got that baby from ME! I swear, that baby did not come from an egg as green as Red's are. Of course, the babies grow up to lay darker if they aren't already. Red's eggs are nice! I have a lot of olive eggs in the bator doing well. madchicken needs to come to my house again! You could get a boy and a girl. I think I am guessing right on these. I see some tails starting on a few. Just starting.

Sphinx, loving your eggs! What a nice variety. Of course I am loving your green. :p

Donna, you got some babies? Already hatched? Ha, I think I better stay away from those stores. I just love the babies. I would want another leghorn for sure. I have one that is starting to get red. She is from Ideal. I wonder how she will be after she starts laying. Right now, she's a leghorn, not getting anywhere close to me..like my Miss Piggy would. But I have to remember, Miss Piggy didn't either until she started laying, and she was the oldest one I had in my flock because I kept her as others would go.

Crele..oh no, something I don't have, and love the looks of. :/ Eeek! I think I'm thinking right, isn't Crele the coloring..like a barred buff color? So pretty. Or can the color be different than buff?

Crele is the dark barred body with the golden head. Barred buff is golden all over. I think one of their hens is a regular barred buff. I'm just excited to have polish again. I had a polish hen years ago but she was killed by a dog. I've always wanted another one.

Oh, well good luck...waiting on pictures of some cute babies. This sound very pretty. Can't wait to see. :)

I have an extra pearl leghorn pullett if you want one

Oh my! All of these pictures of chicks are making me excited for my first hatch! I do have a question, though. What is the appropriate humidity for the first 18 days here in Cache Valley? The last 3 days?

I actually don't worry too much about the humidity too much during incubation. I keep it anywhere around low 30's, will even dip into the 20's. Then during lock down, I go 60 to 62%. Doesn't matter where you are, I don't think. It matters what is going on inside of the bator. Keeping the bator in a room that holds the same temp is a good idea though, around 70 degrees in the room is ideal. I have a room that stays around 68 to 70 all the time. Even when I turn the air on, it is in that range. Strange that it would be that way..but I'm not complaining. Just so you don't have a huge temp change in the room, if so, you sill see the temp in the bator change. Cooler room..cooler temps in bator. Warmer room, warmer temps in bator. :D

Aren't I a stinker?

Welcome new friends! And I am loving all of the pictures of eggs and chicks and broodies. Mimi, I would give you some of my eggs if you lived closer, I'm sorry. And I would love to talk more about all of the posts of late, but I'm not feeling very good, sorry. Gotta make an appointment to go see the doc..................ugh, I haaaaaate going to the doctor's!

Oh man, I guess this means I can't go to IFA for a little while. Good thing I just got feed last week. I would want to get another Speckled Sussex chick so bad

I'm still sad that the one I had last year died after two days. Guess I have to wait for Easter to see chicks.

Oh and the turkey hen that was squatting for me was flirting with the jake today. She was fluffed up and dancing around in front of him, then cuddling up to him and squatting. He didn't know what to think, so he ended up pecking at her a couple of times. While he was displaying. Sigh................

Acemario, I do dry hatch (no water added) the first 17 days USUALLY... I have had good luck going that route. But because the temps outside are below freezing here in CV and the air is even drier than normal, I add one damp sponge, a 2x2 piece to sit in the bator, at least until it starts staying above 32 outside. I wet the sponge each morning, it is usually almost dry or dried out. That is all I add til lockdown, then I put warm water in all the channels, 2 or 3 sponges, I let it get as high as it wants to go, I do not open it to add more water those last three days, but I do really quick set new sponges in each morning. I had all my eggs hatch last time :) I stop turning at 16 days also, seems to be working better for me to give them the extra day or two to get in the right position. Just my quirky tricks, we all have different ones that work in the different bators :) Good luck with your eggs, be sure to show us pics of your babies!

Michelle, the polish sound fun, cannot wait to see! :) Polish are my weakness, I keep trying to stick with LF layers, but I have to keep a few of the ornamental silly looking ones to make it interesting :) I really want to hatch Tolbunt someday, I was going to do it this Spring but I am on the fence, I have so many others I am gettting I might wait til a few more of my older girls go next year. Cynthia has a friend hatching some so I want to see how hers do first, I might snag one from her instead of hatching a whole bator full, I do not think I could have the self control to not keep the whole lot lol!

Cynthia, that is so awesome Red's eggs are doing so good! I really really really hope I can get a girlie baby from her Flekka someday :) ya hear me Red? The anticipation and waiting is so tough haha :p

Donna, way to go on babies! Sounds like you have some good ones. And gecko eggs? How cool is that!

Sphinx, nice assortment of eggs in that basket! Pretty ! Lilwanis congrats, hope the offer is a good one!

Edit--Hey there Red! Sorry you are under the weather--get better fast!

Sorry I keep adding to this post, I missed a lot I am trying to catch up still....
