Joy, YAY! You got the rock star rooster!
Isn't Diana a sweetheart? And Cyndi got to meet Cindy..........haha, Cynthia, is that how you prefer to spell it? Cynthia's a sweetheart, too.
SPeaking of meet-ups, I got to see MoriahQuilts the other night - Thanks again, Ann! I have to laugh, because poor Peach (my BO) is so small that the apron slides around a bit on her, but I don't think she minds it too much. She looks pretty cute
I need to get pictures for you. So nice meeting another chicken friend and getting to chat chicken!
Sundance, I'm so sorry about your friend passing, but what a wonderful treasure that you and Ed got to be with him so he wasn't alone! I'm sure his family appreciates your love and care for him. I know I would, if that had been my family member.
Birdman, super fluffy girls are the best
I have a girl that will lay at twilight, sometimes. She's funny. Maybe it's more private because no one can see her?
Well............I have had something of a day. I got home from work and let the chickens out of the garage - sans broody pancake Nora - and let the rest of the girls in the preserve out to free range on the lawn. And when it came time to put everyone away because it was getting dark, those darned Icelandic girls gave me the slip and ran into where the BR cockerel is in the preserve! So, so much for my breeding pen
Guess I'm only setting seven Icee eggs, not the dozen I'd hoped for. I would have nine, if Ms. Flekka hadn't seen fit to test the shells of her eggs so dutifully. And to top it all off, I spent at least ten minutes chasing down my head cockerel to throw him back in the garage. He got a few snowballs for that. Is it bad if I thought that part was a little satisfying? I mean, I love my chickens, but sometimes they just make me want to swear.........Patience is NOT one of my strong points.
