Utah!

Scratch what I said about the blue eggs! And the OE's..I got that backwards! I got the orders mixed up..lol... Oh man, I think I gave a lady a heart attack telling her thank you for those beautiful OE eggs, and the cochin eggs. Ha, she writes back and says, not sure what you got, but mine are the blue to blue/green and green eggs. Yep, that's what they are. Big eggs too..nice..so, she did not advertise the Olive eggs..the others were advertised that way..oh dear..I think I'm getting mixed up again. I set 60 eggs today!
No, I do not have any new air forced bators..I have one new still bator..

I will have an Olive egg this year, I will have an Olive egg this year. :) Maybe even a chocolate egg! Those are dark..and one is a grey. Strange.

Hard keeping up with all the posts here! Tried reading on my phone, but the site doesn't render properly. Rainy and cold down here today, so making the senoritas 'chicken chili' along with chili for us humans. Basically red beans, garlic and peppers, but they seem to enjoy it!

Going to be up in Ogden next month for work and trying to convince my brother of my need to bring some chicks home with me. Not sure he's going for it yet!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Blue Ameraucana eggs..and a few first generation OE's. That's how she advertised. Very large eggs, nice.

These are the OE's that she sent, and sent me soo many more. I pretty much got most
of the light ones for free. LF Cochin eggs.

SPRING IS HERE!!!

got some pictures of Ratchet and Cotton. And cottons baby Midnight.

Ratchet being a gentleman showing Cotton the green grass i tossed in.

Wow! What a weekend! First I got to meet Sundance. She was nice enough to give some hatching eggs to try now that I have a steady bator to use. She met half the kids too and was super sweet to show them her beautiful cats and the indoor chickens and quails. The kids loved the serama!

Today we drove out to Logan and got to meet LaCasaDePollo and blugems. Such a perfect day for a drive! It was so nice to meet the everyone! I got to come home with four houdans (Lisa, you will be happy to know the runty girl is eating with the others), and three wheaten ameracaunas :D :D :D

The big girls and Henry got our lunch leftovers. Henry is happily sending out his treat call for the girls.

So nice to meet chicken people, thank you all so much!

Lilwanis, so glad that little one is eating well. Thanks again for coming all the way here, it was nice to meet you and your family :) Good luck on your next hatch!

What a nice day today, eh?? I did the big major dusting of all my girls. Hung them upside down and loaded them up. The wind was blowing just enough I was standing upwind of them and had pretty good success. My hair still was stiff and white, but I did not get completely blasted like I usually do lol.
Dusted 31 chickens in all, took about 2 hours to capture them one by one. The last few were quite elusive. I had to chase them up and down the dang run about ten times each. But they are all done for now, until it is warm enough to dip them :D :D They were MAD for a bit. They would not trust me enough to come near me for quite awhile this afternoon, but I took out some mealies and I am forgiven now I think ;) It was funny afterward, all those black chickens, they were a bunch of white dusty grumps out there. I just laughed looking at them. The more ticked off they looked the funnier it was

Now if your run is anything like ours it was a slippery chase.

Those are nice eggs, Cynthia. I hope you get your olive egger this year. I can try to get you some olive eggs this year- I'll put my lavender ameraucana in the coop with my FBCM. I got the sweetest hen who lays beautiful eggs from that combination.

So since everyone else was meeting up today, I met up with Sundancen. An exchange DID take place. I wonder if anyone will guess what. Her button quail chicks are so bitty. I couldn't get over it! I kind of hate going to her house because it makes me want more chickens. In particular, I want to steal her mille fleur, her leghorn/americauna mix, and some of her other babies.

Sizzle Eggs??? Some sort of eggs? Button Quail eggs?? I can't wait to find out :)

Cynthia those eggs are so big and nice! I would be in hatching heaven.

I have 5 Leghorn EE's still going, and I started with 6 FBCM and can't tell at all what is going on in them. Hopefully a few babies next week :) it has been fun to watch the leghorn/EE's because I have never hatched white eggs. They are really transparent and fun to watch the babies! i could see most of the parts, feet, beaks, it was so cool! I have been missing out on that. I might have to get more of those :)
