Red saying a quick prayer for you

I have a little chick that sounds like it has a cold? It has been "sneezing" and when I hold it up to my ear I can hear what sounds like congestion with each breath. It seemed to start when I ran out of straw for the brooder and used pine shavings for the bedding (I usually don't because they eat the shavings). Would that cause it? What can I do to help this little one?

if you need antibiotics let me know

Here are the BLRW The one on the left has always looked lighter one the head. The one on the right has almost black on it's head. Do you think they will both be red still?

Sundance- Thank you so much, if this little one keeps this up I may come visit you

As for eating the shavings i don't think it will hurt, i have always used pine shaving and the chicks love to eat it right after you change the old out for new. Make sure your shavings are free of dust. Don't get them from the big box stores like walmart, they are more interested in the money then in health of the animals. I have found that IFA is better then cal ranch, but that's just my opinion. Make sure the shaving are yellow to white in color, i seen a bag at walmart a while back that had red and brown shaving in the bag that was marked pine. Pine shavings are not brown or red, ceder is and is deadly to chickens, even in small amounts. Do you have enough ventilation? Chicks are poop machines. Poop = Gas bad, bad, bad. If you can smell the brooder then something isn't right. But of course there are a lot of more experienced chicken people on this thread, but every little bit helps right?

Madchicken- hmmm maybe it started when I changed the bedding because of the need for a change! Interesting, I did let it go too long before I cleaned it out that time. I will watch that much more closely. Thanks!!!

I tried candling my Icelandic eggs again tonight. I know this video isn't the best quality, sorry. I'm turning the egg slowly so you can see half of it here.
