Lilwanis, I will pm youThanks for all that info on Houdans! That helps to know all of that. I hope ours make it and turn out short and fat and cute
The chicks sure are cute. I am rooting for you, and your hatch to go well!
Thank you! All but three of the houdan eggs have air cells that are floating around the egg :/ I sure hope they can make it. One egg's air cell was a bunch of tiny bubbles. I don't even know what to think about that. I will hope for the best though.
Corvidae, I'd like to see some of the property your chickens are on, if you don't mind. I like seeing peoples' setups as much as I do the chickensEnjoy your new camera!
Lilwanis, I wasn't aware that the Houdans are now hatchery-only. It kind of makes me want to get some to start breeding them and improve the standard.
Lisa, thanksJust don't know what to do anymore.
Lluvia, welcome!Aww, JG......I've always thought they were cool. Wish I had room in my flock for some. Whereabouts are you located?
Red, that's part of what sold me on them. They are definitely an endangered breed. I would love a local partner in crime, lol. With the U of A eggs, I had to agree not to sell the chicks that are hatched. I don't really have space for as many as I would like for a good breeding program, so if the hatch goes *really* well. Since I can only keep maybe fi e birds, if someone else wanted some and would be willing to work with me,,,that would be an ideal situation for me. This is all based on some big ifs though...
