Utah!

Okay, I made an appointment to see the doctor. Wednesday morning, or I can go to the urgent care before then if I have another problem. Been dizzy on and off today, but okay. Trying to drink a lot of fluids to see if it helps.

Today is day 18 on the Icelandic eggs

Sorry, you guys are going to get a count down now.

Seriously Cynthia you tease me with that Showgirl picture. She is perfect. her head is so fluffy.

That reminded me when I saw the Polish--I need to post a pic of that polish I got from you, the white with Black crest...although her crest is small (she was the one who hardly had any topknot as a chick) her color has turned out beautiful, no leakage through the body like she had when she was a chick. All white, with little polka dots of black on the chest and neck going up to the solid black head. She is a total sweetheart too, not spaztic like some of the Polish. And not a knot head like Elvis. Lol

Red, so glad you have an appt. Smart girl! And soooo excited for your hatch.

Donna, you make me laugh! The Great Chicken will be frowning on me for sure. I MUST get more. Aren't you quite the enabler...lol

She has a "Sargent Carter" haircut. And poopy feet. She looks like in the last pic, she is saying "Sorry I messed up your paper mom!" lol

I must also note, the Houdans personalities so far have been so laid back. I can carry her around the house and she just chills out on my arm. I am really liking these, in our new project we are talking about making a separate pen/coop for the ornamentals, I may dare to get a Houdan rooster...I am getting brave :)

Hi Sphinx!

The NN---I ordered 5 and only two arrived. Appears 3 escaped the box. I called McMurray and they said it happens, and refunded me...but it was a bummer. I only kept one of the two because they were both orange. I might look in IFA when we come down to SLC, i really want a white or black one too.

My Dh said last night, when I asked him about expanding the coop--"Why don't we just tear the old one down and start over and make a nicer one"

So sweet. BUT I hate to go to all the expense, the chicken hobby is outta control. I am thinking if we can re-use alot of the lumber it would not be a bad idea, but where do I put 30 chickens to sleep while the building is going on? Could be a dilemma. I think he really learned alot building the last one, and kind of had fun doing it. He has never really done stuff like that, and after two springs of building, he kind of misses it maybe

Well I have had the same thoughts as your other half Tear down this one and start over. And if you want to make penance for your blasphemy. We will have some straight run coming up.

This is the ifa NN at 6 1/2 wks old. Looking like a boy to me! What do you all think?

Looking roosish, but oh I love the color! Did the ones I got to you turn out to be boys??? I think mine may be. :) If so, then there were a lot more boys than girls. Will have to see how the other ones turned out with a couple out this way. Sorry, if they were boys!

Is she down here or up at your other property?

She's actually in Bountiful. One of the Black Laced we brought down a few weeks ago. She hasn't been laying and I thought she might just be starting up late this year (she's going into her second year). But she does seem to be acting broody. Wouldn't swear to it yet, but definitely could be.

Corvidae, just in case you missed it, I do want to try and hook up with me tomorrow for that rooster? Are you bringing back others to process? If so, do you want me to bring the white one so you have another chicken to eat?

Lisa, that Houdan is looking awfully cute! I love it.

Cyndiloo, that looks awfully "boy-ly" as my kids would say.

I know! I can't believe it & this one was sexed at the hatchery!!!
I rehomed a cockerel white leghorn JUST this morning.
I have 2 Welsummers who seem to be switching gender.
Still waiting on the other babies, but Cynthia, what should I look for on these OEs?
Just redness in the comb? What are you seeing in yours that makes you think boy? Can you show me for comparison?
