cyndi, I will try and get a picture. I'm not real sure. I am going on how the wings started looking. I hope it's a girl. Just have to wait and see at this point, for saddle feathers, comb starting to turn red. In another couple of weeks, we will pretty much be able to tell I think.

Well, I have more babies hatching. I have a bantam NN. Guess it's a showgirl. But it is black and white. I think,.. it's still wet. This will be interesting. May have to keep this one. Will see how it looks after it dries, and I can take a better look.

Great. Just talked to the neighbor across the street. He put down some weedkiller yesterday on his lawn. Some of my chickens keep getting out and going over there to graze. He didn't do it to be malicious, but it makes me worry about my babies now. If I have another dead chicken soon here, I am going to lose it.

Two new chicks. Thought they would be sex links but it looks like someone isnt up to par on breeding. oh well they are still cute. Rir/Dominique should give a sex link right? But they dont have as much white on them as the Dominique chick had as a baby, in fact they are missing the big white spot on top of their heads and on their undersides. One does have a small red spot of feathers on the side of her head. What do you all think?

And last but not least Momo very unhappy about the photo shoot. Have you ever seen a stink eye like this. ( she even reverted to biting). Now wonder my male cats will walk away from a stare down with her.

This morning one of my broody Seramas left the nest with her one baby. An Easter egger. so I put her in a separate pen for just her and the baby. The other broody Serama was still sitting on the remaining eggs. I went out and one of the other blue eggs is zipping and the little broody momma is just puffed and clucking happily. Really cute, I wanted to rake a picture but I can't find my camera. Darn it

That's so cute Sundance.

Madchicken, that looks like one protective mama. Was the mother the dominique? It seems like I heard the mom had to be the barred one, but it's probable that I'm wrong on that.

Lisa, I really crack up every time they say boyly as well. My baby is about to turn 6, and we were talking about throwing a birthday party with friends. He said, "They'll give me boylee presents, even if I invite girls, right?"

yes the hen was the Dominique and the rooster is a RIR, but he is a bantam so this might be the problem. But im not sure how the chicks are supposed to look. I really need more to hatch then two. maybe 6-7 so i have some comparison.

Ha, I think they are cute! Not sure what they are, but I know that mama doesn't look too happy with that camera in her face! Great pic!
