Utah!

You sure she didn't steal one of the others eggs and tricking you.

Nope I saw her do it :) I watched until I saw it happen, I kept telling myself 'no way"...The two polish are the only white layers I have, and the other one laid an hour before. Then I saw Elvis in the nest, and kept going out to check, and the last time I went out, she was straining, and stoodup, ad there it was! no doubts this time.

Birdguy, cute baby!!

So just have a quick question...I am starting to think most of the issues this silky is having is because the fluff is so big that she can't see straight ahead. Should I trim it back?
This is a new one for me....What would you do?
She is a pretty little thing now that she is clean.

blu, I would trim, but I don't show, if you show, you don't want to trim eyes or wings. It really can bother their eyes. It was so funny when I trimmed their eyes after it had been a while. They would stand there, then, look right up at me, like they were saying, there you are! :D

birdguy, cute baby. :)

Lisa, you saw it, but no pictures..well, you know what they say on this forum about no pictures don't you? It didn't happen if there isn't a picture. Ha ha..Now, don't you dare go out there with a camera the next time you see her in the nest box, and wait, for the second egg.

Has anyone see this coup? It is the cutest thing I have seen. I can just see the Seramas in it. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=24487388&cat=113&lpid=0&search=&ad_cid=29
Yesterday I hatched 7 chicks. they were Seramas and Frizzled Easter eggers. A guy came from Kamas and bought all the Easter eggers and a couple of Seramas. They are still hatching and my broody is loving it. I was a bit leary selling them the day they hatched but they are doing fine

I did see this today. Would have been nice if they added a chicken for size comparison. It looks really cool but it looks really small to me. I cant believe he wants 800 dollars for the whole thing. For that much you could build a castle style coop (with a mote and fish) that would easily house all your Seramas.

That coop is crazy cool looking!

I am pretty excited, I candled my 7 day-in eggs from Birdguy, all 30, and all but one has obvious veining, woo hoo! I sooo love eggs that have not been through the mail! Just what I needed, a little pick-me-up after my other eggs all went in the trash last night. :D Yay :D

Blue, that Silkie is darling! I really love the way she has fluffed out on her head.

Sphinx, I'd be pretty mad if I were your friend, too. What really makes me mad, though, is that AC had to have been called by someone. That means there's a rotten neighbor by her. Grrrrrr. I get so torqued off by people who complain about chickens being loud, stinky, getting in their yard, making a mess, etc - because they're usually either snobbish folk who don't like animals, PERIOD (and animals don't like them) or they're the kind of people whose dogs are barking all the time, getting loose, and pooping in your yard. Hmmm, now let's see. Chicken poop = walnut size, at worst. Dog poop = banana size. Chicken poop dries out shortly. Dog poop does not. Dogs eat other animals. Chickens eat your grass. Dogs chew stuff up. Both dig holes. Yes, I can really see why my chickens are such a nuisance, and your dogs aren't...........

I'll get off my ranting stand now.

Still no pips in my Icelandic eggs. Tonight is the start of day 22. And I can't remember if I said so here or not, but the CT scan came back normal (so frustrated!!) I've been referred to a neurologist. I'm really beginning to wonder again what the point even is.
