Utah!

Sundance, I'm located in Duchesne. New husband wouldn't move towards my town so I had to move to his. Anyway, we have a nice place here, 12 acres, 2 well and 2 springs.... a lots of room!!!

Oh Red, I just hate going into places and seeing chicks in need. Too bad they don't make the employees take some kind of training before the chick season. I love my local feed store. They fuss over the babies and make sure they all stay as healthy as possible!!

Quote: I don't grow cilantro (people ether like it or hate it, we hate it) but yes it does great in containers. Make sure it is a deep container since most herbs are weeds and like lots of root space. Yes weeds, just like onions, garlic, and strawberry's are weeds. One of my favorite herbs are sage but it needs a deep planter, but it comes back every year. Gardening is my favorite past time. My second is chickens.

Lilwanis, good to know. I too was wondering that. Thanks!!

I decided one night that I wanted to expand my hobby and that NPIP is something that I will need to do eventually. I spent a good amount of time trying to get a step by step requirement and cost, and gave up. I think the only way to find out is to contact the vet

Cynthia~ have you gotten any more eggs from your Welsummer? How old is she?

I've gotten 2 that were just thin paper like shelled..and one good shelled. Crossing fingers for one tomorrow. It will have been three days since she laid that one. She turned 5 months on the 18th of this month.

Well, went out to Cal Ranch tonight to get a small bag of chick crumbles. Picked up a little bag of wildflower seeds, too. And while I was there, I went and looked at the chicks, of course. I checked on the bantams and found a couple with bad pasty bum, so I took a leaf out of Cynthia's book and cleaned them off. I checked with a couple of employees first, though, then grabbed a sanitized wipe. I felt bad because I'm sure it hurt like crazy for the first chick. This little one's bum was so bad, it was swollen and bleeding. I had to go up to the bathroom and get some tp with water on it to continue. Tried to help kind of massage the tummy, too. I got some poo out, but I'm worried that that chick may not make it

And of course, they had ducklings, so I had to take the obligatory duck picture to tease my BF.

i think I must be tired or dumb but I can't find the NPIP app;ication and what is needed on that site.

There isn't one that I have been able to find. I think you have to contact the vet. Even the Utah agg site takes you back to that site. It's the only lead that I have found in my own search :/
