Utah!

Nope. He is all RIR. Here is a better picture.

Not him! Silly boy. I meant I saw one in your picture, of a few hens with him.. I already mentioned in a few posts back that your RIR is gorgeous!
Look how dark he is. I love it. I have a couple of pullets out there that should start laying either by the end of this month, or first of next. One is going to be real dark like your roo. She's already pretty dark.

So, anyone up for a cute little chick, that will stay little? I want to keep one. If one is looking like a girl, which I think a couple are already.

Where in Utah are you? I'm in Las Vegas. I might be interested if I can get to you.[/QUOTE]

What? You are in Las Vegas? Well, if you come down this way soon, even a month soon, I can keep the little one. It's a serama from one of suncances eggs. I also have a cochin bantam. teeny babies. Will get photos up today. I'm in Central Utah, Spanish Fork. Next week, hopefully, I will have a few NN's. I have someone wanting one..but if these don't work, I have some other eggs I will be setting tomorrow morning. I'm excited about these NN's, there is a big possibility of whites in that one..love the whites! Also, have some Australorps that will hatch in a about a week and a half. Love the eggs from those girls. My australorp has been laying for a while, but just got another double yolk from her the other day. Great for eggs!

Red the picture is sooo cute!!!!!

Madchicken, the rooster is a pretty one!

I have the peepers in with the big girls but they seem not too happy about it LOL I think the big ladies scare them even though there is no pecking going on. I was tempted to bring them back inside but I resisted. Hopefully they will be good in a few days. The only concern I have is the food. I wonder if they get enough. I had one of the little ones sit a lot yesterday and when I put out food just for them they gobbled it up like they had been starving all day. Maybe I need to have crumbs for them in some place so they can eat. Not sure what to do ...

You know you want a NN, and an Australorp. You will be happy with both..they are great egg layers, and one is a converstional piece to boot.

Ok, let me look at my work schedule and see what I can do. I'll let you know soon. How much do you want for him/her? Pics would be great!

Last night we had quite a poultry hunt. I was out in the backyard shaving the dogs and decided to let the Seramas out of their pens to run around the yard. Its cute. Each rooster keeps their little girls together as they move around the yard. I like to groom and shave the dogs outside this time of year as the hair makes wonderful bedding for birds . I recieved a phone call that was very upsetting. A close friend of mine had died I was shocked and upset. Went into house to have a good cry. I finally noticed it was dark so went outside to lock everyone up. two of the serama pens had the proper chickens in it. The third was empty. Ed came and helped me look. We searched the yard for 45 minutes. No chickens anywhere, I went back out to the chicken run and noticed a small black lump on the 6 foot block wall fence. Looking closer it was one of the black Serama hens. We looked over the wall and the little darlings had escaped over a 6 foot wall to the neighbors yeard. Here we are in the dark trying to figure how to scale the wall after all the 10oz tiny Seramas did it. We finally got a ladder, Ed climbed up the ladder to the top of wall then pulled it up over the wall into the neighbors yard and went chicken hunting. I wondered if the cops would be called after all Ed was wandering around the yard with a flashlight hunting for the chickens Finally found them handed them over and repeated the wall crossing. Needless to say that pen of Seramas is grounded to the pen. Good exercise anyway

So sorry for the loss of a friend.

Those little Seramas can really fly right? 10oz? I wonder what this little one I just hatched is going to be. It seems small. Posting pictures now. Take care Diana!

Pictures of my babies.

Little Serama in the middle. Those little bantam cochins almost look like twins. One
has more brown/red on it. The one on the right.

Tiny Tot. I haven't had one in a while..but this baby is as tiny as my Japanese I got.

Pretty cute!

Pretty tiny. :)

This bantam cochin has more red/brown

This one has more black.. just can't see at this angle. Tiny little ones too. The eggs
were pretty small. I had to help them all out. They were so ready! I'm glad I caught it.
They are drinking real well, just not eating as well yet. They pick at the food though.
They are getting it slowly but surely. Nice feathered legs on these babies. :) Cute!
I think I will keep the one with more black on it..cochin for sure for me. :)

Quote: no she is an EE, her beard is gone from the mean production reds i got from a comercial egg farmer. Ya they got rehomed pretty fast. See her slate legs. sorry Cynthia i thought you meant the big rooster looked like a welsummer. It didn't even cross my mind you were looking at the hen. She lays giant misshaped green eggs. wow i never noticed that in this picture, she really does.
