These are sounding good Lisa. Do they lay a pretty good sized egg then? Since they are LF size? I will have to see how yours do. I might have to have a fun bird out there that lays well. Most of the fun ones either lay small, or not so often. But, speaking of fun and often, my Sweet Pea, the Favorelle, lays almost every day! I can't believe this, and I assumed she would have gone broody by now, because my Silkies did. I hope she doesn't go broody real often, she is perfect for me. I just love that little stink. So friendly too. Houdan, will have to read up on them.![]()
The houdans are supposed to lay a decent egg. My blue Polish lays about three days in a row then one day off, and lays the same size as my other LF, quite big--then the Elvis one lays smaller. But for just starting laying it is still not too bad. Bigger than bantam size for sure--maybe just shy of a store size medium. She laid 6 in a row t hough last week. No broody Polish yet. And not so great in the cold months...and they ARE skittish, with the exception of my little black and white one I got from you. She could not be any friendlier
