Going on just the wattles and tail angle, I would guess possibly boys, particularly on #2, BUT, the neck feathering doesn't quite support that, so if I were you, I would withhold judgement for another few weeks to a month. That's just me, but their coloring and shape so far are nice enough that I wouldn't jump the gun on them. Also, if their behavior around each other and you you seems girly (not a lot of chest bumping and just seeming girly in general), I would say go with that until definitively proven otherwise. Just my two cents.
I have a chick here from Sundance that looks like that yellow one and has feathered legs also. What color was that egg? If any of these chicks came from blue eggs I want to know! lol It looks like it will have a pea comb, def not a single comb, no ridges. Only one chick has a single comb here, they are all black except the one yellow, it has a slightly graycast to the torso so I was also wondering about it being a splash, I am wondering what the splash Leghorn/EE babies look like, if I have one in this batch here I want to keep it!Posted my Japanese on the Japanese thread..first response back..it's a girl...e Now, we'll see what others say. Here is what has hatched so far from sundance's eggs. That teeny tiny one is very teeny! I called DH in to take a look..he asks, is it alive? It was just laying down, resting. Then it popped it's head up when it heard him.
The yellowish one is a very interesting color. It came from a very pretty blue egg.
A tiny tot!!
The yellowish one also has feathered legs, but only 4 toes. I think it will be a splash. Can't tell what the feathering is like yet. Still drying. Two more pipped.
Perfect timing you wrote this, I was laughing about how karma works, I got this one today!Lisa, that is a BEAUTIFUL egg!! ![]()
