I hope you are right but something tells me you are going to be sticking eggs under a broody in December. Its ok if you do, I think everyone on here has, i did twice. And in march, and May, and July. Thanks Gary, I have 2 Silkies that are 3 months old, 1 Cochin Bantam Mix, 5 months old, and an almost 4 month old Japanese Bantam, plus a BO. I don't think they will be helping me out in the near future. I will be lucky if anyone here starts laying eggs.![]()
I'm sure next summer I will be screaming that I have 6 girls wanting chicks. lol
In December, in like the snow, and fridge temps. Seriously. I will have to bring a momma in the house. I would freak out with babies out there, even with a light and everything, Just so you know if that happens I'm coming to your house to pick up some eggs, your the closest to me that I know with a Rooster.I hope you are right but something tells me you are going to be sticking eggs under a broody in December. WOW!!! Gigantor moth!!
So adorable Lisa!!! Yea, like you need anything else adorable around your place...lol.oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. Non-chicken related topic here but I have to share. My DH came home with a surprise last night :
He is so cute! No name yet--8 weeks old, he is 75 percent Pomeranian, 25 percent Pekingese. We love him, he is really sweet, and slept in his own bed without whining last night, i was more than surprised. yay!
I agree!!! You need to introduce more than one who are already bonded, or else the pecking order can be brutal.Hello Shmeal,
I would never introduce only one hen into the established flock. Your husband is right. Three hens should be very happy but if you want to add new hens then get two hens that already know each other and get along. If you've never combined flocks before, please read up or ask. It can get messy real fast if done wrong. Good Luck
So glad my German Shepherd is a sweetheart!! That would be so scary!! Glad you're okay!! Did you find out who it belonged to??that puppy is so cute lisa! so i walked outside to get the mail today and was attacked by a big german sheppard (not that the breed matters, i am just saying so you know the size), it tried to get me as i walked out the door barking and growling and trying to bite me. i quickly got inside and it sat at my screen door trying to get in. i pulled out a bat that i keep handy and as soon as it saw i mean business it started to back off and i chased it down the street. my yard is fully fenced so it could not get my girls. but it was scary. i keep hearing about dog attacks in utah. not sure why but there sure are more attacks lately
I found it outside my mother in laws house.Brian..huge moth. Where was that? Eeek. I've seen the butterfly moths..they are big..and kind of pretty.
Lisa! Cute baby! Can't wait to hear what name you come up with. I think it's great that your DH came home with a surprise like that. Were you guys talking about getting a lap dog?Another dog?
WOw I couldnt agree more. Just did it this year and even with 2 birds and slow process it was still a major upset to the picking order.Hello Shmeal,
