She is the Australorp, right? They are sooo pretty. Love the big dark eyes too Hope you get eggs soon, it should be anytime!

Desert, that is so scary! I am so glad you were able to rescue that poor horse and that she's ok. I hope that you aren't injured after all of that. I'm so happy you hired someone. You need to take better care of yourself- if you don't, nobody will, and your animals NEED you healthy.

My broody has three gorgeous little FBCM under her. Two more yet to pip, but since day 21 doesn't start til tomorrow, I'm not worried. They have amazingly fuzzy legs. Mama was upset that I was poking around, so I wasn't able to get pictures.

So little Miss Ollie my NN is finally an egg layer.

And she is so quiet, my RIR screams to the world 1/2 the day that she had an egg. I hope she starts to get quieter because I'm shock AC hasn't been here because of here. Ollie never said a peep. 3 days in the nest box, and I now have a very light tan egg. And of course Ms. Red had to go in right on top of her and lay her egg. So I guess they are going to both use that same nest box. Just hopefully poor Ollie can move out of the way next time. Found them both in there with Ollie on the bottom with a brown egg and a tan egg among them. Silly birds.

Congrats! As for the nest box, I have seven laying girls and six nest boxes. Guess how many nest boxes they use? Yep, that's right, they lay on top of each other to all use the same box...or the floor. Heaven forbid they use a different nest box.
