Gary, Karen, hang in there

I tossed the five Serama eggs last night that have been under my broody. They were all clear as can be. I now have four test Icelandic eggs under the hen, and at least one is developing that I could see. Two of them are on day four or so, and the other two just got put under her last night. She doesn't care - she's just happy to be setting and growing babies.

So, I've been cycling my Icelandic roos during the afternoons and putting them in the yard one a day to let them service the hens. Well, my youngest mature boy, Ike, is still learning how courting and fences work, but he made me laugh the other day. He was doing the rooster dance so enthusiastically and so vigorously, I thought he was having a seizure. He had both legs and both wings going at the same time.

So I have a new egg eater. The last 3 day's I have found one egg out in the yard that has been eaten. It has to be laid out there right, because its always a good 15-20 feet from the coop. So today, I picked them all up to see if I can find the little turd, and I think its my BO, she had egg all over her face, no one else did. I'm so very sad, I think they are her eggs that she is eating as well. She just started laying, and they look like her tan eggs. Now the ones in the nest boxes are all okay.

Is there anything I can do from stopping her or is it best to find her a new home. I was planning on selling a few off this spring since I have 18. But she was not one that I was planning on selling, but now she might have to go.

Will the others pick up on this habit too?

Now, I know I have lost my mind. Cruising the TV channels on Saturday. Rand across a Martha Stewart.....she had a bowl of eggs from her hen house. Sub consciously per the color of the eggs, I thought, she has some Easter Eggers, Cream Legbars and probably some Barnevelders.........................................................Geees! Talk about chicken-brain. lolol

Tell I'm not finding them in the coop or in the nest box, they are out in the yard, and it seems like she is only eating her eggs. I had 5 this morning and the one eaten. Which I'm almost 100% was hers. So if she's not laying in the nest box, and its her egg. I don't know what to do. Darn BO.

Can you separate her from the rest? Maybe the mustard egg will work then.
