Utah!

And Gary, I finally got a Silkie egg, unless its the Cochin Mix or the JB, because I found a little white egg in the middle of the run yesterday, right in the mud.  I hope who ever it was figures out that they need to go in the box.

Might be your JB, they lay nearly solid white or ivory colored, silkies are usually darker off white or light tan. But can be lighter, so no telling for positive (of course lol)

Crossing finger sososo hard for your hatch! :fl

Thanks Lisa! I don't know what happened with the last 2 chicks. But this time we are going in with 17 eggs. Well I saw nice movement in 14 of them, I have 2 that are too dark to see in, so I have no idea on them other then the air sacks that I can somewhat see are getting bigger, so that has to be a good sign right. And then I have 1 that is really dark, but I think I can see veins, but not 100% sure. So at least I have 14 that are good and moving. So as long as I don't screw up lockdown, then we might have some babies! I still think the humidity was my issue last time. So I got a reptile one, and its always reading 10% higher then the one that I used last time, so still I don't' know what to do, but this time I"m going to fill up all 3 tubes, and then just put 2 large sponges in there, and that is it, I think last time I had too much water going on in there, even though it never got foggy, or said it was over 60%. And I'm lowering the temps, Cynthia said to try lowering the temps. Right? I was going to double check again on friday, but unless I start hearing peeps out of the 10 Silkie eggs, then I'm locking them down on Friday night, so that is 18 1/2 days, so not quite 19 days, but I do have 10 Silkies in there, and the guy who I got them from said that they always hatch 2-3 days early for mom, so watch them. I think if I have a good hatch with his Silkie eggs, I might actually buy some from him again, he was nice and just gave them to me. Unless I get a nice White one. I want a pure white Silkie. :D Praying they are okay, I heard they are really really hard to hatch out because of their vaults. So here's to hoping

If not maybe one of my Silkies outside will want to be a mommy, and I get her some.

Nope they will be straight run. These are leghorn/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana mixes, and the second generation of that mix back to the Ameraucana. Pretty blue eggs! And lots.

I do have some CCL/Lehorn eggs in the mail, but that hatch I will likely keep the babies.

Yes you are a ways from Logan! I don't go that way too much, but if you are interested we could see if a chicken train is going that way. Have fun seeing Celine Dion!

Definitely interested, but I know that chicken trains don't just magically happen because I want some chicks. :)

Cynthia, What are the factors involved in deciding whether to keep the woofer?

I quickly found out just what that factor was Speckled...patience! Ha, not just that, but in the day that I had her, I could see, that one more dog right now is not wise, we have three, and that she is going to be huge..knew that, but didn't realize how much space she would take up in the house until we got her here. So, a few things that helped us decide not to keep her. She went back this morning. Beautiful and sweet girl.

Our son is finally home from the hospital. Well, he is here at our home for a while. :) Doing well.

Cynthia, so glad you have him home. Your mind will be at ease knowing he is being taken well care of!

Gary--do you still have the blue silkie Rooster? I am coming to SLC Monday. And I still need a rooster for my silkie/SG pen.

Lisa, I'm hoping that all 9 Silkies hatch, they are from a Black Roo, and White, Black, and Tan Hens. Not sure what colors they will be, but if I get anything that looks boyish your welcome to him. :D But you probably want something now. Not later.

Thanks Silly! Gary--I knew I should not have waited, lol, but had no trips to SLC until now. Anybody else on here have SG/Silkie roos? I really would like to get one that is 5 months plus so I can hatch and sell some babies. I have a list of people from fall that wanted some of Vinnie's babies, but I sent him to live with Brandi. I want to try one again, and see if the collar helps make it more neighbor friendly :) Silly, if I don't find one soon I will let you know. Blue would be the best color, because black roos would not give me splash babies (so Silly your babies should not be splash), and splash roos would not give me black babies, but blue could give me all three :) I have a black showgirl that is oh so teeny tiny petite and adorable as possibly can be, and I want to hatch some of her eggs. :p
