Help....
I was told that it was a Light Brahma, but when I looked up light brahma pics, it looks nothing like this? is it a buff cochin? it seems to have a bit of black bars in its' wings, so that is throwing me off. I know it's hard to tell in the pic, but it's a really light yellow color
(it does have feathered feet)

nevermind... answered my own question.... why was it that it showed me the darker colored babies? when this one shows the light colored babies?

Does it have feathered legs? If so its not a BO. Most likely a Buff Brahma or Cochin.

Ace, that rooster you got from me is just gorgeous. I loved reading your chicken saga! I'm giggling over it being an OT saga. I hadn't thought of it that way til you said so. I love seeing generation 2, 3 and further on chickens, so I found it really interesting.Your predator vs prey costumes are so cute!!

Silly, I am fairly open on meeting time. I think the 12-18 range is a safe bet for what I'll have. If you're anxious, I can always send them down with my husband on Friday and leave them at my grandma's house in Taylorsville, and then you could get them at your leisure.

I have an issue with the pheasant thing. They're expecting me to pay for the enclosures and food which is probably going to get pretty spendy if I use my chickens as a gauge. I get absolutely nothing out of the deal other than the pleasure of raising pheasants, and then they charge hunters $30 for a license? If they provided the food for me, I would actually be open to the idea.

Bitsy, I'm not familiar enough with those breeds to say what breed that chick is. As far as facebook groups, I'm personally on Backyard Chickens, which is nationwide and very busy, as well as SaltLakeCityUrbanChickenFarmers. If there's anything for this particular group, I haven't been invited. LOL

it has feathered feet, but the one next to it is a BO. I looked at pics for Buff Brahmas, and they too have some dark coloring on the chicks..... that's why I keep thinking it's a cochin...

Bitsy, I had some light brahma chicks that I sold last year...they looked like those! Whitish, feathered feet, with black accents starting to come in when they sold. At least that is what they were supposed to be, they were from a hatchery.

I don't know why, but a co-worker sent this email to everyone in my company...something about referencing people in the office that are the "Pig" and others that are just "Chicken".

One day, two best friends, a chicken and a pig were walking down the road. The Pig turns to his friend the Chicken and says to him “Hey! we should open a restaurant together. You and me, 50/50 partners." The Chicken says to the Pig, “That’s a great idea! We should call it Ham & Eggs!”

The Pig replied, “Yeah, umm, that’s not exactly 50/50”. The Chicken said “What do you mean?”.

"Well", replied the Pig. "I will have my skin in the game, and you will just be contributing.”
