Utah!

wow, a Frizzled Americana. I so want a frizzle. Maybe one of these days, I might have to buy some hatching eggs from you. Good luck with your hatch. I can't wait too see your frizzled chicks. :D

Hope the Silkies are doing good. Mine have been cooped up in the house since the weather has gotten so nasty, and they haven't been too happy about that.

My rooster Hercules is a Frizzled Americana he came out of a blue egg. He is a big roo and has lots of pretty colors. He is very sweet so far. I see him breeding the girls so I put what eggs I have in the incubator. Not sure if they are fertile yet or not its only been 4 days that hes been with them. I have a polish girl with him a naked neck with him all my americanas. can't wait to see the babies. I just put the naked neck in with him last night so no eggs from her yet.

What do you guys do when the chicks you put in and now some are allot bigger than others . And I have a place I put my teenagers(1 to 3) month Olds . Does that have to be perfectly cleaned each time?

I clean my out each time I take the chicks out. But if I add to the what I already have, I usually just change out the bedding before I put the new ones in with the ones I have now. But once they are out of the brooder, I fully clean it out before I but brand new chicks in it. If that makes sense.

Hello from Weber County! We're a new chicken family although I'm not entirely new to having backyard chickens. We picked up 4 different chicks from IFA yesterday and they're happily hanging out in their brooder. My kids are entranced with them.

We have a buff orpington, rhode island red, ameraucana, and blue laced red wyandotte. I'd love to add a maran but there weren't any available. I'm really hoping these are all pullets or else we'll have to do some re-homing of any roosters.

Anyone else in/around Weber County?

ya I that helps . I have 20 all the same age but some are way bigger and picking on the little ones

Maybe they need more space, that's why they are picking on each other. I think if they've been with each other for a while or the same age, I don't think they would just start picking on each other unless they need more space. Just a thought. But I usually try to keep mine at least within 10 days of age difference.
