Utah!

Hi Diana, actually i thought about that, if it was lacking the frizzle feathering and the silkie feathering wouldn't it just be another barn yard mix? None of the other chicks i have hatch from this roo have vaults except for the silkies. And these 2 have vaults as big as any of my silkies i have hatched. I guess we will just have to wait a couple months and see how they turn out.

Diana...thanks for the surprise! More pretty eggs. :) Brandi loves that big roo. She says he likes her hens already.

oh red they are beautiful what kind are they? They don't look like Turkeys.
Red I LOVE your chicks! Are they icelandic or part icelandic? The first little brown looks crested..so beautiful. Congrats on the new additions!
Thank you both. They are Icelandic, with the exception of the penguin chick. That one is half Icelandic. I'm 99% sure it's momma was my Leghorn I just lost. I just love them, even though I'll have to sell most of them. Lisa, I think three are crested :)
Oh boy, our Cherry Trees gave this year. :)
Yum! Madchicken, those smooth sizzles are beautiful. I like their creamy color. Iluv, love the pictures of your fluffballs :)

Karen, you could give her an egg when they are on day 18. This way she will think she hatched it all along.

Where will I get a 18 day egg? I was thinking of giving her 2 from the other broody, but I'm not really sure if the one will hatch. So that would leave one with 2 chicks the other 1 chick. Does that even work well with a single chick with a mom?

Karen i have had hens hatch only 1 or 2 chicks and they do fine. Mostly in the winter when the fertility of the rooster is low. Don't give up on that egg. A broody is a work of art and if there is a chance that egg will make it the hen will do it. I have had half egg air sacks hatch just fine, the chicks are just a little small.

Really? A leghorn, goes broody? My little one is broody. She is very small. She is one that I hatched, so not one from the feed store. Heritage.

Also..I have 4 duck babies! Two are really awake. They are sooo cute. They follow me. Or, if I put them on the ground away from me, I talk to them, they see me and come running! Sooo cute. I wish I could keep a duck in my back yard, but I wouldn't have a back yard after having a duck or two back there for a summer. :p

Well maybe I will give the Silkie 2 eggs on Tuesday at day 17, and leave 2 with the Cochin Mix. Hopefully something hatches for both girls. Dang girls, I hope the partridge Silkie doesn't go next. Hoping this is it for the summer.

My Easter Hatch along chicks are little devils, 9 baby chicks, and they are like taking over since I let them out last week of the grow out pen, they even take on the big girls as a whole crowd. They will all go in the coop during the day and won't let the big girls in to lay eggs. Kind of funny, but its driving me mad. I need to figure out who is a pullet keep 2 and sell off the rest, anyone know how to sex OE? They look about the same to me except color. Most are black, with a few black copper maran feathers in their necks. I do have one that has the Legbar toupe. I love that one, but feel it might be a Roo :(

Kate from OC seramas does not sell chicks or eggs. If anyone wants me to pick them up a serama let me know. Her Seramas are top quality but pricy

I would so love a Serama, but I don't have a setup at the moment to have some beautiful birds like that. Maybe that will be next years project and I can get some from you :D Still needing to get a Frizzle eggs from you in July. Maybe by then my other Silkie will be broody and do the work for me. :D
