Utah!

Feeling a little discouraged about my splash babies. I've gone through several trying to get a pullet, but as they grow they keep looking like males lol. I have two right now im watching. One im pretty sure is a roo, and the other im not really sure lol. Im starting to doubt if im meant to have a splash haha.

Amanda, Here are some shots of the Chocolate Orpington chick I hatched out from your eggs. Do you think it's a pullet?? How close does it look to your chick?
I would say pullet. The comb on my little guy was bright red and he wasn't nearly this feathered in. He went to live at his new home last week, but I can see if I can get his new mom to send me some pics for comparison if you want.

Both the silkies have sold. Thought I would put that out there..the paint was, and now the blue. That blue is stunning. It was hard to decide between her and the splash, but I've been wanting another splash. :) I think I am going to keep that cute little one that came from one of Diana's white egg..this last hatch. I posted a photo of her ..her...lol.. just a couple of pages back. I think she just may have a little poke em up on the head. Sure is sweet. Thinking she will be small, she can keep my splash company in my end run when the mama hen is done raising her babies in there.

Also want to sell my incubators. One is with a fan, three are still. Anyone on here interested? I think for the fan I should be able to get 50 for it. I just got it this spring. The still airs are great. One is more dirty, but it hatches great! I love the still airs for hatching. I also have a turner. Not sure what to charge for them. ??

cyn, it seems like you did this last year. But were soon hatching again. Give your bators a rest but don't sell then you know you will just end up buying more Luv ya

Ahhh I'm so excited! Sophie had her puppies last night :D 4 lil chihuahua puppies :weee

Yes we use old (clean!) socks as birthing bedding...they are gonna get thrown out anyways! Lol ....don't judge me.

No Diana, I am really done now. I just can't do it anymore. I am keeping one still air for a back up if a mama hen flies the coop, or there is some type of problem. Will let one go broody, and get some eggs from one of you for her.. but, I have a really good broody breaker. Haven't used it yet, but with all of the birds that can go broody, I probably will use it next spring.

The turner sold. :)

Aww, congratulations! They are so cute..love how mama is huddling around them. My Golden R. is due at the end of this month. 29th. We use old blankets..socks wouldn't be near enough for her large size and puppies! lol..

Ok, here goes, Lisa told me how to post a picture, so we will try it out. It should show my new rooster RC (Rooster Cogburn) in his acclimation pen in front of his new hen house. It is 10' x 14' and is to be used just for roosting and egg laying. RC will be king of this domain and all he can see. We might move everyone over here by the end of the month. Trim painting and roosts and a few things such as that are all that is left for the most part. And I want to paint the gable section of the west/east ends a dirty pink to match the house. Our pebble dash is that color, and the house is white as well.

RC had a nice day meeting his new ladies eating crickets, cutup worms and some grass along with his own private feeder and waterer. I've had him one day now and this free chicken has only cost me $190.00 and change. A steal by me. He will have about 4 acres to roam on in my inner block lot. The sun is just setting and evening is creeping in with those lovely long shadows. A perfect day to hang with the birds and watch the interaction with the other members of the flock.

I hope he will like his time here, we have just loved looking at his hackle feathers when he flares them out, and that two feather tail flip is just cool. I am very glad he did not end up in a stew pot in West Valley! I've a lot of work for this guy and his gals.

Thank you pfrosty and the Utah thread for making this happen, and everyone is sooooo nice as well. Good job out there guys.

RJ
