For bantams i love the Silkies but if i could only have 1 breed i would go with the RIR bantams.

Speaking of Bantams my BSL has turned out to be a great little bird! She has only been laying for a month and her eggs are all ready the size of a Silkie egg. She also lays around 5 eggs a week. I wish i would have keep more then 1 instead of selling all of them all.

Gary, do you have any HRIR's? LF? Or just bantams. I am selling my HRIR LF as soon as I have another girl start laying. I am getting my numbers down out there. She just started laying this spring! Great layer of nice brown/red eggs. Very sweet too. Wish I could keep them all, but I have a wonderful little flock that I kept out of a couple of hatches that are getting close. A barred rock, an EE that is gorgeous, a sexlink, and a LF cochin, which, isn't going to be laying for a while. She is soo pretty! My DH really likes her. I'll keep her for my big broody girl. As soon as my leghorn is done being mama..she is up for sale. Young also.

So anyone want either breed? Let me know.

Your chicky finally made it to me!! Darling little one. I sure hope with all my heart it is a pullet. Such a lovely color!! Thank you and Amanda and Lisa a million times over!!

One of our daughters shared this on fb. My DH made one! You need a cooler, a fan, and a pvc pipe. Ice in the cooler, and wallah! It is in the doorway for testing right now. I can feel it clear across the room where I am at the computer. Pretty? Not really. Cool though. Will have this in the bedroom doorway tonight. I turned the air conditioner off. We have a window one, not central. It cools pretty good. This one is cooling the room off nicely. I can take it room to room..no problem. DH put some plastic on the end to show how hard the fan blows. This is the size recommended for the cooler size.
