Is anyone interested in some preteen/teenage chicks? They are all BR crosses. My mom has a couple of pullets that got serious and hatched more than 20 chicks between the two of them. No idea on genders, but anyone who'd like some free chicks are welcome to them.

I would so take some if they were girls for sure. I have had the WORST luck with boys this year. I only ended up with three girls and I have had seven boys to find homes for. Ugh. I took a gamble on Garry's little chick and I am holding my breath it is a girl!!

I have had a terrible day. I was carrying out a water jug and tripped. My foot landed on one of my hens and badly injured her. I feel just terrible. She is laying in her side peddling with her head streatched over her back. I gave her a shot of Dexamethasone. Hope that helps her, It was an accident but I feel so bad for her. On another note a funny thing happened. I'm tending my daughters Boston Terrier. she was out in the yard with me. Went up to a chick and sniffed it she was just curious but Momma hen didn't see it that way. She came out her wings and claws. Poor dog went running like the devil was on her tail. We have a very small doggie door for very small dogs. She went running in the doggie door that she can usuall fit thru but she has to kind or stretch, Running in full tilt she got stuck and couldn't go forward or backward. I had to pull her out. Now she won't go into the back yard. she is tramatised poor baby
