Utah!

We call him Gravel and his little hen Pebbles, nice looking birds, I might try some more, if I knew what they are. The color appears to be possibly Mille fleur...Here is a pic at Cackle, if you scroll down to the Mille fleur, one looks quite a bit like yours, the one on the far left with the speckled chest and the white in the wings. Also the hint of white tips in the tail looks similar. But not sure about the breed because all the OE have different combs in these pics. Unless they are dubbed for showing maybe? Did not see any pics with single combs. If this is not it, here is a starting point for research ;) http://www.cacklehatchery.com/oegbantams.htm#mille fluer ETA: There is a note about them being disqualified unless their wattles, combs and ear lobes are dubbed, so this might be your boy!

My rooster is back!! Poor guy is beat up, too. I think he may have been well hidden in the back of the run between the fences, which makes me really worried. The cockerel that was in there isn't beat up at all. I think that means my turkeys ganged up on him. Ooooooh! *very angry face* If anyone is raising turkeys with other fowl, please be warned that if one turkey gets a bad attitude, the rest will pick up on it. Little brats!

My boy seems pretty scared, so he is in his own apartment for a few days while he recovers. I'll have to slather his face with neosporin, I think. I'm so glad he is here, though.

Ace, your SS egg thing made me laugh.....sorry. I'm collecting a second batch of Icee eggs and am trying to figure out if Idare to put them in the same incubator as my first batch. Some of my eggs in the bator are clears :(

I have a pair of Modern game bantams that I bought at the auction at the Utah show. They are really cute and that Roo is really mean. Its pretty funny when he poofs out his neck and attacks. I have them here in Arizona with me and had hin dubbed so I could show him. He was reserve champion of the show, Everyone here in Az was crazy about him and I had so many people that wanted to buy him. I paid $4.00 for him and had several people offer me $200.00 for him but I didn't sell him. I was afraid he would end up fighting and I didn't want that to happen

Sundance, congrats on the mean little winner :p I'm glad you didn't sell him. I worry about illegal bird fights when I have to let a rooster go, too. I don't want any of my boys to be put through that, no matter how big of jerks they are. I don't even like it when they have to settle disputes between themselves and just do a little biting.

My Blue Marans pullets are starting to lay!

Thank you! I am pretty happy with these, they are getting better!
Working on this....I am trying to get egg color dark as possible then working on plumage and standards....want to start with dark eggs first though! Hoping to go one more generation with these and see what happens. A couple of the blue pullets had a tiny fleck or two of black. But most were pretty darn decent! I was using a few black hens from a few different people to see which ones made the darkest eggs. And the roo came from a good breeder...dark eggs..he's just getting on in years so I hope I can figure out how to work this with the diversity but still having a line from him. I had the rooster that was his son and my dog ate him! So now I need to get another awesome male from these dark eggs :D I just ordered FBCM eggs from down south, they were expensive but I hope they give me some more black hens to work with. I will let you know when I get some hatched that I won't keep, it won't be long!

I'm trying to cross breed cornish rock cross hens with my black austrolorp rooster and one of my hens layed a HUGE creamy egg! I'm gonna get my incubator ready and try to hatch! I checked to see if the egg was fertile and it was! I'm SO excited!
