My Wyondotte is the one that got me into hatching..yep, blame her. Looked up broody hens, was told to make sure I had an incubator for back up..good thing, she literally flew the coop when those eggs started to pip, and make noise..she would not come back to that nest. I hurried them into my bator, and wal ah! I had babies. Boy, did I get hooked.

my barnyard mix is feathering out beautiful! A unique pattern just like I wanted!
one of my Speckled Sussex! Look! You can see the black stripe and white dot pattern already forming!
finally, my little houdan that I got from Lisa today. The older three are about 3 times her size but deathly afraid of her!

Ace,looks like those chick's are coming along nicely.
I'm not sure I will try ordering hatching eggs again. Of the 14 BCM eggs that were shipped from Texas, I've only had 2 hatch and one another that has pipped. A fourth one partially zipped then turned upside-down and suffocated. This makes for some very expensive chickens.
I hope my luck changes during the night.

LPeaslee, maybe some of them are just a little late? I know shipping is hard on eggs.

Peaslee--sorry to hear that. Those eggs are big, they may take longer for sure. I have run mine with no humidity...air cells are not evaporating at all, I checked this morning and they are teensy. My worry is that the bator keeps cooling off and has run a little low..I was trying to go low on purpose to make sure no early hatch on those big eggs, but I worry it has dipped too low! I hope I manage to get a chick or two.

I got some marans pics--Red you wanted to see the BTB, so I got some of her, one of the Golden Cuckoos, and the Wheatens Marans. So pretty. Oh yes and the new boy!

The new guy! He looks like he is strutting his stuff but he was running from my mean and bossy hens..
Running for his life..again...
The old guy with no tail! So sad he keeps getting beat by my hens. The new guy is ridiculously passive too, crossies he will fair better amongst the ladies.
My Wheaten Marans, the favorite! Love this girl.
The Black Tail Buff Marans : She lays the craziest big egg of all. Geez she would not pose at all she was moving around so fast.
She is a busy girl, she eats like a tank and is quite big
The Golden Cuckoo Marans:
For fun, the white Frizzled Turken, her feathers are a wreck haha but she looks so silly I had to show her.
A pair of wheaten Ameraucanas, cute girls.
My Black Frizzle, she has to photobomb every pic, so I added her here so as not to hurt her feelings....She is the old Roosters favorite, never seen an egg yet that was not fertile.
She has made many Frizzled Olive Egger babies.
