Utah!

@Dizzywitch, thanks for the eggs! I didn't know your roo was a naked neck! What a fun combo. It was great meeting you and your daughter! Thanks again for coming out here! I'm shocked you didn't leave with a few friends! Such self control!

It was nice meeting you as well Ace! There were a couple of times I almost turned around because you've got some cuties in your brooder and my daughter wasn't much help saying she would hold it and love it until we got home. :) Maybe next week when I come up for the panels... My four new babies are living in the bathtub. I need a better setup before more are added to the flock.

I wasn't going to do it, but DH asked how my eggs were doing tonight. So I had to candle.

Out of 24 eggs, I only had four that were clear, and three of those were from right before I set. So I think the roosters are slacking off. Two eggs quit already, leaving me with 18 live embryos. This next week will be the real hurdle. If I finally have things right, then hopefully most or all of these survive to the third week mark. I am really nervous now.

I already have five new eggs set aside, just in case. I would really like to see them end up in the fridge because of the hatch going well.

Ace- you asked me yesterday about your babies and if there was some sex linking going on with the coloring. Have you looked at this website?

http://kippenjungle.nl/breeds/crossbreeds.html

I'm not sure I understand all of the options and terms but it's interesting to see the outcomes and just how many mixes are sexlinked. :/

ps- I'm going to have to take a picture of Tweety and post it later. Apparently I have no pictures of that silly looking girl. :)

It was so nice to meet you as well! You'll have to stop by again so I can show you around. I just wasn't sure how much hobbling you wanted to do :) and please post pictures of the babies when they hatch. I'm so curious to see what comes from the breeding!

I think I need a blue chicken. Every blue chicken I see I fall in love with! I also love sweet, cuddly, friendly chickens that know their names and want to sit on my lap. (yes, my hubby thinks I'm loony tunes! lol)

So...what are your favorite sweet, cuddly, blue chickens? I'm trying to decide what I want to hatch after Bear's class is done with my incubator :)

We decided to give our chicks to our hen who went broody before the attack. Here she is with her chicks when we first introduced them yesterday. She has adopted them, and is still tayesterday. She has adopted them, and is still taking care of them today.

Lots of my SG/Frizzle/Silkie eggs hatchout blue babies, so when I give you some eggs you should get a blue one for sure! Just sent 3 blues home with their new Daddy. today.

My new babies are doing much better. :) I definitively think my Cream Legbar is crossed with a BCM. Speaking of BCMs, with too chicks, are they heavier than pullets? My little FBCM that my daughter brought home with the mystery blue chick from her school hatching project is so sturdy and heavy compared to her. It's comb seems to be growing quicker and it sure is feisty!

Ameraucana mix? Breeder had a purebred black Ameraucana roo and Ameraucana hens plus CLB and RIR wintering together.

My slow to grow Russian Orloff that seems to want to stay a cute little fluff ball forever. :)

My sweet, cuddly mystery girl with a straight comb. She's such a dark grey.
