I wouldn't think so. I had the same question but then when I got my sportsmans it turns every 2 hrs

Good Morning Utah! I have a hydration station photograph that I would like to share this AM. Whereas I free range my flocks most every day, I place watering holes round and about the place. This one is near the new, Banty coop and is hanging from a tree limb via a chain which I use for height adjustment. I keep several water stations at or near the spots they like to hang out, or near my treat places. A hydrated bird is a happy and healthy bird. By not making them return to the coop for water, I believe I am able to get more HO2 into them, more often. Horizontal nipples are my weapon of choice, but I also employ open short buckets, big pans and even a little metal chicken water feature. Of course I have my pond up and running for a month now, so they can water up in the stream bed or the pond as they choose.

Where ever the birds congregate, and there is a hose bib within a reasonable distance, I try to place a water station. Am I the only one here whom free ranges their birds? I am not sure that I have seen, or at least remembered, which of you is doing so in your flock management scheme. The picture shows (L-R) one of my BBR roosters, an SDW, Sebright and Serama hens. I am very guilty of loving my birds, as are you kind folks. A very rewarding and fun hobby to say the least.

Oh, and… I have acquired a yurt for my chickens, I will have to share the details regarding this at a later time however.

Lisa, congrats on the babies! I am still trying to clean goop off of mine so they don't look all whacky for a picture :/

Cynthia, that is so sad. I saw something yesterday about it affecting a bunch of turkeys. It makes me feel grateful that we can raise our own.

RJ, I free range my birds some of the time. I have to keep them penned while I'm gone because people around here seem to love letting their dogs run loose.

I'm up to six chicks, one pip, and another wiggler. I sure find this goop to be annoying.

I had goop this time too

I lost a few showgirls and silkies to it, but overall a good hatch. Just cleaning the bator out, I will have to get a final head count, I set quite a few this time so I could take extras to chickenstock. Can't wait to see your Icees RED! Yaaaaaay! i'm so glad you got them to hatch. :ya
