Utah!

That seems to be what most folks want and what I got them for in the first place. Thanks!

Food coloring! Great idea! I will give the GCM a chance and see how dark her eggs are for sure.

Dang those things are cute!

Thanks! This one should be lavender. I need to post pics of my growouts this color, they are really purdy :love

Finally seeing decent results with heads and feet this generation. It has taken a LOT of patience and a lot of chicks growing out haha :D

Grey is a little tricky because it can come from Lavender which is a recessive gene or it can come from what we call Blue which is actually a co-dominate or "incomplete dominant" gene that is actually a dilution of black.

When it comes to silver I'm honestly not sure which one folks are talking about. I hope someone can tell us.

Ok, so I knew grey is called lavender (light) or blue (darker). What exactly is silver?

These lavenders look really opaque with a slight purply tint. Really cool. The silvers look more like...well they have a salt and pepper look to them, darker underneath with the silvery outer fuzz ( on the silkied feathered ones). I'll try to get some pics if I can before we leave for camping.

Oh man, I may need some eggs after all Lisa. I want a pretty Lavender SG.

Ace, I do but I'm in the SL valley. They are brown leghorn/austrolorp. Anyone want to egg train some eggs up to Cache for Ace? My girls have gotten picky with their calcium recently, so I'll need a day or two to boost the egg shell composition for hatching. They have been eating their free choice oyster shell for a while, and all of a sudden are shunning it. I feel like it was going from the cool weather to the sudden heat, but I'm not a chicken so I really can't say.
