Utah!

Ok, I just had the worst hatch ever.  :hit   I have one lonely baby.  It needs a friend.  Anyone close by, or sort of close by have an new babies?  I just need one.   :fl

Cynthia, one of my mom's hens just hatched out a few mutt babies. She's in West Valley.

Ace, so sorry about your girl! I detest raccoons :(

I think I'm lined up! Two different people that can bring me one..will go with a guy that has some Aussie babies. Just need one. You guys are great. Thanks!

I will have one in 3 days you can have!

ETA: jk. Just saw you are taken care of.

EATA: thank you for all your condolences. :( just like you all said. It is such an investment to grow out your chicks, and when they turn into beautiful hens, it is so rewarding. When one of the flock dies unexpectedly, it's like losing a piece of the family.

On another note, the trap is set (thanks RJ) and I'm anxious for the result in the morning!

One last thing!!! Visiting RJ was such a rewarding experience. My little Eva fell in love with his sand box, chickens, chicks, fish, apples, and most of all, Ms. Vana White herself. RJs property emits the charm and care that he shares with us on this thread.

I just heard from Lisa! Seems like recovery is getting better. I told her hello from us all, and she says hello back!

My lonely tiny tot. Until tomorrow morning. She/he is getting strong on those little
legs. So sweet, she loves me. Until tomorrow. lol.. Maybe, she still will. I will still
hold her, soo cute.

Black silkie.

RJ, have you had any issue with those pvc feeders? I have them, too, and sometimes the feed doesn't come down like it's supposed to. I'm wondering if there's a trick. Mine are straight up and down.

Any luck with the trap, Ace? I'm a bit worried since I know you and RJ both live in CV, too. I haven't seen any raccoons around my place but I'm in Logan City up by Lundstrom Psrk.

iPick, they are for grit and oyster shell, I use the tube type pan feeders for my lay pellets. The pvc works well for my use. If you are trying to use 'mash' I have found that it won't slide down the pvc tubes, nor any of the metal/plastic tube type feeders. They certainly work best with either pellets, or crumbles. I have to use trough feeders or pans when I feed any type of mash.

I hope this helps… some.

Best to you and your birds,

RJ

Heads up. I bought Purina Layena crumbles from TSC in Providence earlier this week and both bags were bad. They let me return them without issue and said they have been having this issue with Purina at multiple stores.
