Utah!

Well, my husband has been quite annoyed with the extra chores and smells that bringing all those chickens home from the show brought with them.

We're really too busy to keep up with 3 additional pens. We've decided we need to stick with LF and friendly, fluffy things and less roosters until we have our own place and less neighbors. If anyone's interested in modern game bantams, I'd be happy to sell them to someone on here for the price I paid for them at the Utah Fancy Poultry Association fundraiser auction which was a steal for quality show birds. The brown reds were blue ribbon winners. The birchens are still really young birds. Both are are trios - 1 rooster & 2 hens.

I sent you a pm

Thank you everyone. I'm sure you get sick of me coming on here and saying "oh I lost another bird" all the time. Your tolerance and support are greatly appreciated. We will be installing a new fence as soon as we can get things together. I am still holding out hope that my turkey survived and will come back, as she is quite clever.

RJ, I love the seasonal fare on your ladies' house :)

ETA: Oops, meant to answer this. We haven't been able to start developing the property yet in Delta, so our move down there keeps getting pushed back. I am so ready to get out of here. Our power and water bills have been abnormally high for a couple of months and I'm concerned now that our meters have been sabotaged, so I have to keep track of them myself to make sure we aren't being overcharged. I have my suspicions as to who would do such a thing, but I can't prove it. Yuck.

not to speak for the group or anything but i dont think anyone gets tired of you coming here for support, i mean its one of the reasons we are here. i know for me i am tired/sad/frustrated that it keeps happening to you. i hate for anyone to lose a bird but i hate it extra bad for you because you have had such hard luck

I know.....but I still feel kind of bad when I vent, you know? I know that everyone here has their own issues they deal with. I am glad I can come here, though.

I finally did it! It took months, but I ordered a pair of Silver Laced Wyandotte from Jerry Foley. These birds are just amazing. The type and lacing are incredible and they are big and healthy. I hope to improve the stock of SLW in Utah with this pair. These are by far my favorite birds.

Look at all that lacing!

They type is amazing on these healthy birds.

Nice score Sidewing… they are some very beautiful birds. I enjoy folks getting 'nice' things, be it birds or gear. A true bird lover, for reasons unknown to me, seems to deprive themselves of the very thing that they enjoy, and is the goal of the whole thing anyway. I very much like it when people step over that line in the 'mind' and achieve a goal. I think we should be kinder to ourselves, and stop being so hard on your own person. Heck there are lots of folks whom will step up and 'wack' you, no need to do it yourself.

So I will be watching for the updates and the successes as you go, a bit of bad luck seems to shadow good, but we hope that these birds are a homerun for you Sidewing. I have a big smile for you today, that might carry over till the morrow.

Best to you and your new birds,

RJ
