Oh! I read that wrong. Darn, no baby rabbits. Your are happy, we are not. Thought we were going to see some baby bunnies. :p

:yuckyuck  Never thought I COULD or would use this little green thing, but wait… there it is. Also a late birthday wish to our own Cynthia. Eggs are slow round here, I've got freeloaders a plenty, much like Lisa.

My flock's labor union is also on strike. Although they have not stated their demands, I would assume it is due to their lack of a heat lamp this year.

I may have spoiled them last year.

With the colder and shorter days, does Egg production slow down or suddenly stop? My 7 mo black sex link suddenly stopped. It's been 4 days and until now was on a regular daily lay schedule. She is acting normal. My 7 mo BO has slowed to every other day. I have an 7 mo astralorp that has yet to lay or crow. DH calls her a free loader
The cold can slow down the egg laying, but I didn't see anyone mention lighting. If you are not doing any kind of supplemental lighting then you will definitely see a drop in egg production. And we aren't even to the shortest days of the year yet.

Our girls produced next to nothing on the coldest day of this year so far. Can't remember the day, but it was in the teens at night.

Now that my broody and chicks (they're 13 weeks now) are in with the big girls eating big girl food, any one want a 1/3 bag of ifa medicated chick starter? I got it about 6 weeks ago, stored in its bag in a garbage can. Thought I'd see if anyone wanted it before tossing it.

Does anyone know of a breeder that has Salmon Faverolles and Black Austrolorps? I want a Fav roo and an Austrolorp hen, as chicks, this spring.
