Chicken update: I got two new chickens on Monday bringing my flock count up to three big ones. So now I have a Buff Brahma, a Barred Cochin, and a black Frizzle. Pretty sure they're all bantams. Hope they're all girls!

Welcome "paintedsavvy" and"bootsuu" This is a great forum with lots of info and friends. I'm in Sandy. We have 2 barred rocks and 2 red sex links. They're now 4 months old and very integrated with my backyard and garden.

I have 6 Americaunas or however it's spelled. I got them at IFA, and I think 2 of them are roos. It's too bad they're so pretty, and I want to keep them until I HAVE to get rid of them.

Still don't have the run done yet, but have really good ideas.

everybody! We live in Sandy and are new to chickens... ours are around 10 weeks old. Never thought I'd be into chickens, but our house came with a coop and we couldn't resist. Excited to know I've got some neighbors here on BYC!

The ski area. The mountains and skiing lured me out here from MN and then I fell in

Do you mind me asking where in Sandy? We live a little south of Dimpledell. I'd love to do the Tour de Coups, but I can't. Maybe we can figure something else out? I'd suggest my house, but even the Sandy "welcoming" lady laughed when she saw the inside.

I'm at 8600 South 1300 East area. There's another user, yfchoice I think, who's a little west and south of me. Are you in Sandy City, or Salt Lake County?

That's probably why I never offered my house for a Chicken Stock!

Did you buy your chickens from Kristy at SunnyBrook farms on 10600? A couple of us did...

(Oh, BTW all, I bought 4 americanas from a guy down in AF. [that makes 15!] They are real skiddish, and we've had them 4 weeks...)

FYI for all those in Utah:

June 3rd 2009, the Alternative Garden Club is having their Monthly meeting with the topic of "Chickens in the Backyard".

On the 21st, they're doing a Chicken Coop Tour.

The group is for Gays, Lesbians and Gay-friendly people. (Disclaimer, just in case it's not stated elsewhere on their page).

If you're interested, I can try to get more info, or you can get a hold of their website: http://agc.freehomepage.com.

Welcome altagirl...I'm in Sandy.....8200 South and 935 East. Pacsman and I bought our chicks from the same lady on the same day within probably an hour or so from each other. I've got 2 barred rocks and 2 red sex links.
