I'm really glad I opened it up now. I am sad it didn't make it, but I'm also happy to know there's nothing I could've done to save it.
I'm also glad you and my husband both encouraged me to help HULKSMASH out of the egg. I'm not sure it ever would've zipped enough to get out, and as soon as I chipped a couple of tiny chunks of shell off, it was out immediately, with a bang. I only regret nobody else got to see her entrance.
Now I can go about obsessing about the gender of these.
Soon, I will be incubating eggs in my kids' classrooms. I'm waiting for the breeder up here to get her breeding stock going, and then I'll buy hatching eggs from her. Upside to doing it this way is the eggs will be in my kids' classrooms, so I physically can NOT obsess in person. Bad news is, I won't be able to candle/help out as easily. I was thinking of hatching some BCM, and I'm a little worried, I've heard they need assistance more.
Oh, Redd, he is beautiful!!!
