The lady who runs poultrypedia.com has been giving me tons of hobbling advice about this chick. She wanted to do a live chat while she looked at the leg. She was wondering if maybe it was a slipped tendon, so I was having her try to help walk me through popping it back into place.


Birdman- YES!!!!! I am still so angry about it. Tuesday morning, dh left for work at 6:45am and all was well. At 8:00am, my son's friend came over to get a ride to school and told me that the back glass on my car was shattered out. Not only were they hoodlums, but they had bad aim. They missed the first shot, and I have a spot of chipped paint too. grrrrr

They also tried to shoot out our pickup truck windshield- took at least 6 shots to it, but it didn't shatter.

Glad I don't live in that area! Knocking on wood. You never know what can happen!

we get vandalism around here a lot and it drives me crazy. in this case it was 3 teens and they are at least 18 so that part makes me happy

so not only were the windows shot out but with this rain it makes it a lot worst. a undercover cop saw them shoot out the windows of a car so that is how they got them EDIT: wow sphinx! sorry you got hit when i was young if i even stepped on someones lawn my parents made my life hell, now some parents do not care if their kids go out egging

From what I understand, Clinton city had gotten some tips, and actually followed them. When they hit the first car today (?) they stopped and arrested them.

Oh Shinx, sorry. Sounds like you got it pretty bad by those kids. I'm glad they got caught.
Hey, someone knows how to help you with your baby? Wow, that's great. There are a lot of folks out there that have been through most of it if they have had chickens for a while. Keep us updated!

Sphinx- such a bummer about your car. I would be so mad! I hope no one else on here got hit, that is horrible. Kids these days have no respect for other people's property.

Also I hope you can fix little Hulksmash, that is awesome you have that webcam and someone can work with you that way Now that makes sense why you were showing her little leg. I hope they have some good advice for you.

So sorry to hear about the damage, so sad our world (or some people) are raising kids to do crap like that. We bird dog our kids, even tho one's almost 18. We make them accountable and they are growing up being pretty awesome. If people would just take more time to talk & listen...

I think I'd wear rubber gloves. I'd SAY it was for sterility reasons (and there'd be some truth to that), but it would really be because ewwww, gross! Sticking my fingers up a chicken's butt? Yuck!

I candled my eggs today, and saw veining and baby chicks in 6/7. The 7th didn't have veining, but it was like day 4.5, so I'm not too worried yet.

The more I watch Hulksmash, the more convinced I am that culling her is the kindest thing I can do. I'm really having a tough time though- I don't even kill spiders unless they're poisonous, so killing a cute chick is an unbearable thought.

darn it, don't know what's going on -- I got your first one fine and receiving all emails. I have no blockers on and checked my trash to be safe. weird. A call would be great, later is just fine. Ahhh, I think the microsoft email is not a real one, use the "simpler" one.

It always bothers me when people feel the need to mess up someone else's stuff. We've had a few times here where kids go around either vandalizing cars and stealing stuff, or else breaking into peoples' homes. It's enough to make you want to lock everything up! I dunno, maybe I'll get a pet skunk or something and train it to spray intruders. Creative punishment, right?

How about this rain btw ? Yard is under water again, so far none under the house tho so it is good so far, we sure need it in the mountains! But---maybe we could not get it all at once :/
