Hey Lisa, since you've expressed interest in my BCM/EE grandchickens, I thought I'd share. The second hen started to lay. I took a picture of the eggs they're getting now. One lays brown, one lays olive.

Isn't that interesting! Funny how different in size too....You just never know for sure what is going to happen! I have about 2 months plus to go to see what my black girls will do. That brown egg is beautiful. I will post pics when I get eggs......thanks for the pics!

I have two pips..best I can do without the cam. I was right, the first one hasn't pipped as much as the second one. I just may have a couple of babies tonight. Might be late though. I'll wake up to peep peep peep, then go check, then won't be able to go back to sleep. Wendy probably knows that one!

Lisa, They're different in size because the brown egg layer has been laying two weeks or so, and that green one was either the 2nd or 3rd she'd ever laid. My BIL texted me a new picture today, and it looks like the green ones are getting larger.

I am going to be in Lehi the evening of the 17th, so I could possibly be a chick mule again, though we're carpooling with another couple, so meeting in Orem wouldn't be as feasible.

Cynthia, I predict a very restless night for you. Hopefully they hatch before bed, or if they do hatch in the night, you either sleep clear through, or you wake up in time to watch. I got up 5 times that night, and missed three chicks hatch. They came within 15 min of me checking on them though, little brats!

at the top of the page by the search box you will see "subscriptions", click that and it will take you to a page with all your subscriptions and near the bottom of the page you will see a little box you can check, that is the button. it was a little confusing to me too but i got it and now things are normal *knocks on wood*
