Hello fellow Utahn's! Not been here in forever! I came to research how others treated their birds when they came down with a "cold" am thinking of using Oxine ah, it sounds like pretty good stuff by everything I've read. Hoping to get them all better so that we can get some chicks & add to our flock this spring/summer.

They are soo cute! I 'liked' your FB page I wish sooo much that we had room for goats, I've wanted a few for years - they are such fun animals.

Thanks Lisa! I hope so too! It's so sad hearing them cough. It was fun looking at all the pictures on your page. That coop of yours is ADORABLE!!! We have a 'triangle' tractor right now and I absolutely hate it - can't wait for the weather to improve so we can build a better coop

Thanks so much! We are in the process of adding on, the girls need a little more space. The weather setback yesterday will make it a little longer before we can get it going I am ready for summer. now.

Well, didn't have a great hatch at all. Only three have made it. No more pips, and I knew by now there should be. Eggtopsy done, all others dead but one. I helped the chipmunk one out, glad I checked, it was internally pipped. They all had the gooy stuff again. I don't know what that is! But when they pip, they drown in it. I usually see this in the winter, shipped eggs.
I had one blue that didn't make two splash..my only ones, and two blacks.
I have these three that made it, and I have tape on all three..not all of their toes, but the middle ones look a bit in, so I went ahead and taped to make sure. That can come off this afternoon. The legs are not the mostly grey like my lavenders. They do have some color in them, and that is blue gray. I just have to wonder about that chipmunk one? hmmm...that's the one that came from the bluest egg. And the black. And the blue came from a more blue/green. Sorry Lisa..if that is what we go by. I've been told you can't tell what color of an egg a chicken is going to lay by the color of egg it came from. Really? Then why were all of the lavenders from blue eggs? And, when folks have sent me blue eggs with blue green eggs, they have said that the blue were from the blue Amerauacanas. Oh who knows. I still think you may get a more blue egg from at least one of the blacks you have. This little black one came from a nice looking blue egg. Oh boy, here we go again..lol...guess you find out when they lay.
Not much of a choice here Lisa. If you want to wait until next weekend, no problem. I will have more babies hatching from blue eggs either tonight or tomorrow,,probably through the night. We can see what comes from those. And no problem holding your Ozzie. Looking more and more like a girl!
Disappointed in this hatch.

Awww look at those poor little guys. They look lonely. Too bad the hatch did not work out so well!!! Well I was planning on making a shopping trip to SLC on Saturday anyway...will you be around that night? My mom is visiting. I could pick up Ozzie, and see what happens between now and then with the others Maybe if a girlie looking one comes out of a blue egg......Do any of these three look like hens to you.....Comparing combs from the chipmunk and blue...the blue looks smaller, yes? Are you still wanting to sell any of these or will you want to keep them....let me know

Very fun! I think building the coop(s) is as much fun as getting new chicks/chickens

I'm so sorry the hatch didn't turn out well. That's discouraging. I'm glad you got into the one egg and rescued that little chipmunk baby. They are all so cute! Here's hoping the next hatch goes a lot more smoothly.

Lisa - Watermelon_Gypsy reminded me that I was going to tell you, you have some fun pictures on your page! I saw the link the other day and went to look around. Is that your hubby in the two pics? He seems pretty laid back. I had a good laugh from those. Makes me want to get my page set up!
