Utah!

Aww, the miracle babies!! They are so cute. They will do fine together. It's funny how the older ones act scared to death of the young ones when you first put them in.
I like the fact that your brooder is see through. Mine are bins. So, when I put them outside, they are really funny. They just stand there, and look. It doesn't take them long though, before they are running up and down the little coop..loving the space. I do hold them while indoors, so they get a different bit of scenery once in a while.
Looks like you have several blacks in the older ones, but those little ones are blue! Are those from the blue Wyondottes you got? Very pretty color.

How are the Lavenders doing Shinx..Lisa? I am pretty sure mine is a girl, and, I am pretty sure my black is a girl. Still, no red in that comb. Sure is getting a nice full neck. Becoming very pretty like your black ones Lisa. No white though, not yet anyway. :)

Brad, is your pencil just getting bigger and bigger? I can't believe how much bigger she is than my other pullets, that are older! Going to be a big girl!

Shinx, love the picture of those kids. Too cute. Are you making an album of any kind? That would be fun to do with all the different times you do this.
And, loving the color of that egg. Pretty blue egg...ahem, did you see that egg Lisa? lol.. Will be waiting to see if it hatched on it's own..soo hoping it does for you!

Red. Don't. Change. That is the fun part is blabbing on here about chickens because EVERYBODY here gets it, and most are quite interested I think! I am!
Some poor soul just texted me from KSL about chicks and they got held as my captive audience while I rambled on and on about chicks. Sorry buddy did not mean to do that! I was just so excited about the newbies I could not stop myself :duc

Cynthia YES I saw the blue egg, I was drooling! My babies are so light, they are drying out and they are really silver, white almost, it is so funny. Same breed. Same mom and dad....the blacks have black black combs, and mostly beaks, these guys are pretty pink. I love that they are all so different, I can totally tell them apart.

Love that your black is a girl! yay! Now watch yours lay blue, mine green. lol I will have to sneak up there in the night and switch 'em! You ahve a really nice flock, all sorts of pretty colors, love it!
Mine seems to be all white black or some form of gray right now. Need to add some color! Hope I get a Wh Amer. girl. Actually I need two so SashaT can have one. :) Right Sasha!

I may need to get more of those eggs is they do not give me a couple girls.....

The lavs, oh the lavs! One still very much a pullet. One still very much has me guessing.

BTW, USPS tracking says my eggs should be here "by April 13". I've never seen a tracker say by a certain date like that, it's usually "by the end of [certain date]". So could that possibly mean they will be here BEFORE the 13th? That would be tomorrow, er, TODAY! I'm a wishful thinker. (It's 2am and I just got done putting the first coat of paint on the 2nd living room. Maybe I'm a not just a wishful thinker, but a tad delirious? lol)

Just a few fun pictures to share. :) They were only outside to play for about an hour when it was warm enough, before the storm front started to hit. I'll take some of the bantam chochins tomorrow...they're so stinking cute! Looks like 2 are frizzled and one isn't.

Awww they look so content sitting there on your leg, how cute is that!! I am in love with that one with all the gold. She will be purdy!! Is your SLW boy trying to crow at all? I hope you can find a non-crockpot home for him, he is cute :love Can't wait to see pics of the Frizz babies. Love those too!

Love the teenagers, Sasha.

Lisa, love your babies too. What miracles they are!

Red, I love that I can ramble on and on about chickens here, and you guys get it. I wouldn't worry at all.

Cynthia, I do keep a chicken blog, but I haven't updated it since early yesterday.

I'm skipping my beloved kickboxing class to go to the preschool this morning and see how the slowpoke is doing. I've emotionally prepared myself to expect to find it dead in shell. Here's to hoping I'm pleasantly surprised. Three of my eggs were that same shade of blue. The one still in the egg seemed to be dark, but maybe it's my imagination. The other two chicks were the silvery color. The green egg had a very dark chick.

Lav Ams: I am thinking one is a boy and one is a girl. The very big one is really shooting up now, and his comb seems to becoming more red and pronounced. I'll try to go out and take a picture today.

Hope your chick is ok. I had one dead in the shell....totally developed, I think it might have drowned, it was trying to pip upside down, and I finally opened a little this morning because two of these have stayed the same since yesterday morning....it was gone, and there was a lot of muck going on. My other one is very loud and noisy, doing ok, but a little blood on the membrane still so we are going slow. I made a spot big enough for its beak pointing up so it can breathe at least. It has been like this a long time, so I hope if we go slow I can help him out bit by bit. This one looks dark. My little ones from last night--I still can't get over how white they are. Will get some fluffy pics up later today. Sphinx if you put a pick up of your lav boy I would love to compare. Still mine looks more and more girly but comb is pinker than my little one----not red by any means though. But sure has a boy attitude still...

It hatched!!!!!!!! From the looks of it, I bet it only hatched about 30 min ago. It looks perfectly healthy and is another beautiful lav am

I noticed one of my other lavs looks like it may have a couple feathers on its leg.
