Utah!

I got some Corid today for the Welsummer and already she is looking so much better. What a relief. I mean it sucks to have to treat them, but I'd rather treat and have healthy birds.nhow do you prevent coccidiosis down the road? They were on medicated starter and all that.

Thanks Lisa! I forgot to note the three GLW cockerels I got from Sphinx, so that makes 13 right now. I didn't realize I had that many! Shhhhhh.

Excuse me while I catch up on a couple of pieces of conversation, I was so excited to make a comment about (Shirley's) egg. I agree with Cynthia; Lisa, you do NOT look old enough to have grandkids, m'dear. I didn't say anything on Saturday because I didn't want to come across as a weirdo, but you do look young.

So, wait, if I'm picking up some black Amer's from Cynthia, and if Lisa wants one.........1+1 = 3, times that by two because of chicken math............Lisa, are you planning on coming down this way any time in the next little while? Why don't I just pick one up for you when I go down to see Cynthia? It would save you some travel.

Arg, my brain is fried. I totally forgot how to spell travelling. I'm doomed!!

Edit: sasserfrassin'............Oh yeah, and on the color of the egg from Shirley - The last egg my Marans laid before going broody was ivory in color. I thought it was hilarious. Maybe it's a weird Marans trait that makes it so their paint sprayers don't fire all the time?

Red--Not sure when we will be to SLC. Could make a trip just for chickens. Really I just should. When are you going to Cynthia's then I will know how long I have to try not to make an impulsive decision here.....I have decided Ameraucanas are the hardest little brats to tell gender on though. They keep you guessing clear til the end! Thanks for the offer! That is mighty nice!

Thanks for the age comments :) No comment on my age lol but our oldest daughter is turning 29 next month.....sooo.....yup :) I feel like I am a teenager most of the time my kids keep me feeling like one myself.

Hey lisa what is the name of the silver lace I got from you?

It was SNAPE, like in Harry Potter.....At first it was Ellafellit (my daughter came up with that??) Then she sold her to my DH (we all had our own chickens at first and we were trading them like trading cards to each other, kinda funny) and my DH named her Snape. Because of her lurky dark persona she has going on. How is she doing?

Kimmy, I just use the medicated right at first. Only for two or three days. I don't worry about the big guns disease. They just aren't usually exposed to it..unless, you bought your chicks from someone that has chickens, and they may be sick, and they aren't washing their hands before handling babies.
I absolutely love Welsummers! Beautiful eggs they give!

She is still lurky. Still a bare bum hope she gets some feathers back there before winter.
