Utah!

Hey jwoo, I'm really sorry to be posting this but I am being forced to get rid of Bond. He's a big problem with my flock. He's been mating his kids, and I HAD to sell my younger teenage ducks since they were practically bald. He's also attacking my hens. If you see him on KSL, I'm sorry but I need to protect the ducklings.

RedIII and Sphinx, Thank thats what I thought. I did put plain white wax on the egg and put it in my incubator. Crossing my fingers all will be ok.

BluJems, That goat looks so uncomfortable! Can't wait to see pictures.

Another question----still wondering about the bantam incubating time----and also blue chicks at the feed store. I have seen blue wyandottes, blue andalusian--there would not be Ameraucanas (pure) right? has anyone ever seen true ameraucanas at a feed store? I have never.. just wondered.

Guess what? I'll give you one guess! Who called me....finally! Yep, Kirk. He is trying to decide whether he is going North or South today..he mentioned you, and said he knows you will be in SLC today? Is that right? I told him to call me back and let me know which way he will be going. I cussed him out for not calling me back sooner. I kid around with him lots. He said he just got his messages, I said, yeah right! I asked him if he was ready for some chicks. He asks how many do I need him to get. I told him I got the eggs for him so he could get some blues! So, I told him he needs to buy them all. lol..he laughs and says ok. I did tell him that I have some people wanting some, so he wouldn't get a whole lot, but would have his blues, because I just had 9 hatch yesterday. Yaay, I have my babies sold. To three different people. Nice thing about Kirk is, he doesn't care what sex of chick he gets, he just wants them. I said, you sure are into those blues aren't you? He chuckled and said yes, it seems like that's where I am at right now. He has pens to separate them. So, you may see him today, he would go up there first, then stop by here later. Hope so. Or he could go south..no comment on that one..lol..he's funny. Best get pictures though, just to show how cute these turned out..they came from Citycountrygirl..something like that. She is great to work with on here, and, she gives lots of extras! She was disappointed that more didn't hatch, but then said, not bad for shipped eggs I guess.

That's easy!!! just win a bunch of eggs in the chickenstock raffle and start hatching again!!!

Okay, now, my boys had me send $20 for the raffle about a month ago---You better have gotten it, and I'm just sure I'll win a hoard of eggs!!

My new BBS babies...thought I better get them here before they sell. Some going tonight, the rest tomorrow to the guy that I originally bought the eggs to do this for. Whew, glad he called.

Picture overload! Before they are gone. Pretty cute Ameraucanas..blues and splash....

We've got 17 out of 19 of the BLRW eggs hatched so far--another one with a good size pip, and the last just sitting there looking sad. Looks like an eggshell explosion in the hatching tray! So far, only one splash again--what the heck are the odds of that?! Just going into day 21 right now. Not too bad a hatch, I have to say! Now I just have to figure out where to put all the little buggers!

It is so sad to see my incubator empty of eggs! I don't know what I will do with myself!

17 out of 19?! Great hatch!!

Pictures?? Pleeze... :)

Aunt Hattie, if it were me, I'd put candle wax on that cracked egg and put it in the incubator. I think it'd be less prone to infection or further abuse.

Those tiny blue babies are so cute. Blue cochins, eh? I have no idea.

BluJems, that poor goat!!! I'm gonna guess 4.

Donna, congrats on such a great hatch! Since I'm desperate for the darker chicks, watch: I'll get 6 splash and then one rooster of the blue.

Speaking of, I candled my school eggs today (day 15), and all are still wriggling around. I'm giggling because the teacher's namesake egg is the wildest of the bunch.

AND: The teachers are enabling me!!! I had another teacher at the school pull me aside and ask if we could hatch chicks in her classroom as soon as the incubator was free!

Now, I just need to decide what to hatch. I'm thinking maybe doing just barnyard mixes, but in blue/green eggs. Maybe a couple more BCM in the mix. I dunno.
You're lucky you have teachers that want to do this! I've tried twice now..what's up with the teachers down this way anyway?

They are still in the 'bator, fluffing out because that last pipped one hasn't hatched yet and I don't want to shrink wrap it (the pip is pretty big, but still, I worry!). There always seems to be one that lags behind a bit! I might have to pull them out later tonight, though, since the 17 that are out keep getting the bright idea to peck at the one that is pipped. If so, I'll help the little one out. I hate to do that, though, since more than half the time that doesn't end well.

Still, it's moving around and cheeping in there, so we will see. That last one hasn't done a dang thing. I promise I'll get pics as soon as I get them out. I also get to go up to Duchesne tomorrow and I'm hoping that broody has hatch some of hers! Now THAT will definitely be picture-worthy!
