Sasha, I'm so sorry about your chick. It sounds like there was something not right about her. I'm sure it was some anatomical defect, and nothing you could've done. How many eggs did you set, and how many do you have left?
I candled my eggs yesterday. Only one of my sussex eggs looks good. There's another that I think is an early quitter, but I'm not ready to call it dead yet. The brown and blue eggs look good, and the olive egg is completely opaque. I'm really disappointed with the sussex. I'd really gotten myself excited over getting a couple coronation sussex, so I'm really sad.
I set 23 eggs, 1 was infertile and then 9 (thus far) died. So I have 13 eggs left.
Little chicks are so sweet and innocent and it is so hard to see one die. It broke my heart to read about your little roo trying to snuggle up to her after she passed. Hang in there.Sasha what are you keeping temps at in your incubator?
I was so excited to have a beautiful BLRW.
Looks like the pics Sphinx posted of her boys yes? You have had a couple turn out to be boys right? Or am I thinking of somebody else---seems like a BR and another one were looking like boys of yours. Going to be fun at your place at sunrise!
