Utah!

So Casa told me this was a good thread to join, I can see why, 689 pages??? I'm not even going to try and get through all that=)
Anyway, I live in Idaho Falls and had chickens for several years as a teenager, but it was very casual... I learned how to take care of them but not much about the different breeds.
Had a friend at work who had over 60 hens and needed to find some of them new homes, so I took some about a month ago... Now I have 2 EE's, 1 BO, 1 NHR, 1 BSL and 1 white brahma, Turns out one of the EE's lays a light olive egg!! That's when I found BYC to figure out how the heck those chickens were laying those cool green eggs.. (I didn't even know at the time what I really had) Then at the chickenstock I got 3 pullets from Azriel and 6 chicks.. talk about chicken math!! I love my chickens and wish I could have more, I have to find homes for most of them since zoning only allows me to have 6 hens=)
Eager to read about all the happenings close to home!!

Red--that roo was pretty, I saw him in person. Glad they are working out so far :) Let me know if any of your Amer. go red, then it helps give us a comparison, where they are the same age. Crossing fingers! Will love to see pics of Stevie and Angel, they are probably so different now! I still do not have names for the Ameraucanas, I am scared I will get too attached if they are not girls. Couple more weeks, then I will be naming them when I am pretty sure. I need to come up with a new theme for my names, half the Happy Days gang is gone....just no fun without 'The Fonz" :D But glad Birdguy has him and he is happy. I put Shirlee back out in the run today, she has been in isolation for three days for pulling feathers out. Better tonight, but I need to sit out there a bit tomorrow and see what her deal is. Hope I can keep her! But LaVerne is completely tail-less now. Grr. and a few others are looking pretty skimpy in the behind.

Sphinx have fun down there! Awesome you got to get away---hope you are "liking the ones you love" haha..... drive safely home!

I have three chicks hatched and one more has pipped but it looks a little bloody. Not sure why. I hope it makes it. The other one nothing. So I was so worried about not getting any chicks to hatch that I ordered more eggs. I think I have officially lost it.
Lisa what kind are the two chicks you have for sale?

Welcome Daloorashens! Glad you are here!. Fun room, this is :)

Hattie--Hooray for more eggs haha! I have two Blue laced Red Wyandotte chicks. They are dark---may even be black laced. Cute litte things. Here is a pic of them.

Some of the hens they came from. These belong to our Corvidae (Donna) :) She let me use the photos to help sell them.

Let me know if your sis is interested. They hatched last Sunday. Then the Ameraucanas are trying to come out early. I wish they would stop, they are not ready yet! They just want to get here so they can ride to Idaho Falls with you :)

Man you are killing me with these cute chick pictures! So the polish chicks that i have hatched are darker and not as much white on them. I'll have them out of the incubator tomorrow and will take pictures. Here's hoping for a WC Black!
Lisa I hope your eggs come through ok.

Hey what did that polish turn out to be you got from us?

Blu, have you seen any predator activity around there recently? It almost sounds like something is hanging around and it's bothering them.

I don't know why your animals are so wound up, but judging by the way our dogs are mimicking being dead on the floor right now, I don't think it's widespread

My chickens have been pretty normal, too, and so have the cats. Maybe it's something in the water? Hehe only kidding.

I haven't seen anything like that, but that doesn't mean anything. LOL
Hopefully they will be better today. Have never seen them so wound up.
