Utah!

Yay!!!! Lisa that is amazing they are coming so early. I've never had that happen. I'm so happy everything is going well too.

Yay for baby chicks!! How many do you have?

Daloorashens - beautiful chickens! Your kids look like they are having fun with having them.

I started lockdown with 12 that looked good, plus one that I probably should have tossed, there was way more clear down at the tip than there should be, but I tried just to see. So far I have 6 total that have pipped, one came out. I think there are two more eggs slightly moving---it sure seems like it. So I should have some for you if you want them still :) How many do you want to keep of yours? I will buy whatever ones you do not want :)

I have another week....I am jealous that you are all getting babies.

Oh and HenRee laid in the nestbox this morning. I was worried. All was well with the animals this morning.
Yesterday was just a funky day I guess.

These are my teens. Should be the same as the chicks hatching. No red so far....one acts more boyish though.

My whole group of teens-- 2 black amer., 1 blue amer., 1 FBCM, 2 wheaten amer.

Not sure if these are Wheaten or blue wheaten, anybody know? I need to email the breeder and ask her. Those two are from Michelle @ qcupoultry (pawtraitart).

Just guessing but I think they are looking kinda bluish?

Which reminds me I noticed my blue/splash/wheaten? doesn't have a tail like my others...Is that normal?
Just got to wondering when I was watching them.

Might be a sign of boyishness....on my ameraucanas, the girls tails are usually longer. BUT I have had two exceptions. So ya never know! I had an EE that everybody said was a boy due to the black and white feather pattern, AND it had a little tail, that even curled downward....and it turned out to be a pullet. If yours does end up a boy let me know. I am saving most of these from this hatch to grow out to be sure on gender, plus I have these other two teens I posted pics of just now , and the two from Chickenstock, I won't be keeping all the girls, I will gladly give you one of these if yours does not work out. :D I am going to sort through them and keep my favorite 3 or 4 I think.

Lisa I sent a picture to my sister of your BLW she will get back to me on that. She said she would LOVE to have 2 blue egg layer. Haha So lets see what you get with your hatch by tomorrow. If you can spare a couple that would be great she would love to have them. She said she would just take two of my polish and you could have the rest. She said she knows where she can get more. HA You do too!
Did Sasha want a chocolate?

Hattie--Awesome thanks! Let us know what hatches in your next batch too you never know lol I think Sasha did say she was looking for a chocolate. Sasha---if you want one of these let me know I will bring them back with me tomorrow. Hattie I will bring you two Wheaten chicks then and if you decide the BLRW I can bring those. Musical chickens, I love that so many people on here have chickens from the same hatches, we are chicken sisters and brothers. I cannot even keep track anymore who has what lol It is getting pretty confusing,

Blujems---speaking of chicken sisters, glad HenRee laid for you again! Stinker was just fooling ya. I just heard back from Michelle, I pm'd her pics and she said the two teens are Wheaten Ameraucana pullets as far as she can tell. She said the boys have a bit different coloring as teens. And that these will lose that blue stuff and just have black on the tips of the flights and tail as adults. yay. How cool they are both girls? I was thinking one of each, one has the smaller tail. So I am finally getting some female Ameraucanas yay! And these last few from Cynthia also look like at least 2/3 are girls. I am over the moon :) My flock did not stay at 21 very long.....better throw another roost bar in the coop hehe....

Do any of you know the best way to transport these little ones? I was going to get a heat pak for them do you think that will be enough?
Lisa those wheatens are so pretty. Lucky on the all girls! I'm finding myself tempted. I love my white Ameraucana but she seems to look like she has just taken a dust bath all the time. She looks dirty white all the time. I wouldn't get white again but love her to death so I will be keeping her.

Yes a heat pack should be fine. I usually just put my box on the floor with the heat on the floor and that works great. (except for the passengers complain haha) A little pine in there to help them snuggle for warmth. I will keep these Am's on the floor, I do not have a heat pack but the drive is really short, they should be fine....then once they are in your box with yours they should stay plenty warm for the rest of the trip if you have a heat pack in there especially.
