All hens chicks or pullets. My husband bought me a incubator so I bought some sizzle eggs and am going to try my hand. at hatching. I also raise breed and show Sphynx cats
Holy cow, now that is a lot of chickens with nice variety!! Very cool!!

If you have any roosters to re-home

Seems like you always have a few haha

She was saying her mom needs a new rooster.
Well let us know if that pretty girl/boy crows! I will hope not. You can put phoenix eggs in my bator if you want

I may even be done with it soon, still on the fence trying to decide if I am gettting those free eggs with my gift cert. I won at Chickenstock.... I am thinking one dozen Black Australorp eggs and one dozen Delawares, maybe.....but there would still be room for more

if I get done and do not buy more you could use it at your place

Just a stryro- cheapo bator, but seems to work ok.
Thanks Lisa!!
Your cute little Amer chickies look like they're doing good!! How exciting!! Like I've told you before, looks like I need to really consider getting an incubator, or at least hope my BO goes broody this summer=)

"So I have a question for all you experienced hatchers. I have my last egg that has been pipped for about 24 hrs. Hasn't had much change at all. The chick is chirping and moving but nothing is happening. Any suggestions?"

Hattie - I'm not experienced but my last chick of last batch did the same. Looked like it pipped low and made no progress for 24 hrs. At 4 am I moistened the dry membrane w a wet q-tip. Then started flaking away at the shell with tweezer, little by little, and waiting to see if it would get out on its own (and for me to breathe). It didn't until I got all the way around where it should have zipped. Then it came right out. One foot was curled but it straightened out w exercise by the next morning. Stop if you see any blood. But get a little more aggressive if it sounds like its getting weaker - according to what I read here. Seems the chick was large and may have been in the wrong position. Waiting to hear how it goes.

Good Luck!

Ok so i turned on the shower and really steamed up a small bathroom. Then wrapped it in a warm paper towel and started to break away some of the shell. It got to a point that I could see some blood so I stopped. Does that mean that it isn't ready yet? Argh! I have put it back in the incubator. It does look like it is in a bad position though. Hope this little one will be okay.

Ok TeeRex you may have to wait for the next batch. In 3 weeks I don't think I have any in this hatch. I can bring them to you because I have 3 kids that live in Lehi and Orem area. Hey I forgot what you are hatching. Any zipping yet?

Lisa just talked to my sister she saw the picture and said yes yes I want them. So throw in your BLW. Not literally but you know what I mean. She wants them.
Hey Thebirdguy do you want me to bring you anything?

Auntie Hattie, I'll wait if I must...

I would LOVE a WCC Polish! Well, we'll take two. Or Cuckoo if no chocolate. :) But Howard (TeeRex) does like the WC anything.

We live just outside of Logan, not more than 15 mins from Lisa. We are hatching Wyandottes (a mixture of colors) and a couple cochins. :) Currently have 2 hatched and 3 more pips!

Lots of babies today! Lisa, I'm loving your Ameraucana babies. :D In the group picture of the 4, I love the one in the back left the best.
Auntie Hattie, your little polish are super adorable. I hope your last baby comes out on it's own OK.

Our family reunion went really well! The weather was crappy, then the sun peaked out for a short while, long enough to get most of our people here, then it turned crappy again. So we all stayed packed up into our house and big front (covered) porch. Thankfully, I have 2 good-sized living rooms. Our main attraction was our hatching eggs. :)

We currently have 2 hatched Wyandottes who are doing very well, and 3 more pips. 1 is the only cochin egg I wasn't worried about. :) I hate to go to sleep, but I'm exhausted. Maybe I'll have more babies in the morning.

Sasha I'm glad that your reunion went well for you. Sorry about the weather. You need to come to southern Utah your chances will be much better for good weather.

Yay for your two little babies!

Big news! My last little one hatched and is doing just fine!

All five made it. I'm so very happy.

Yay Hattie!!!!! So glad all five made it.

I'm jealous of all the hatching. I don't expect much excitement in my bator til Wed, and even then, I'll count three chicks as a miraculous hatch

We had the same issue with weather and our reunion here. It didn't rain much, but it's been soooo windy.

If any of you SL, Davis or Logan people want Cynthia's chicks, I'm happy to play shuttle. Need to know within 2-3 hours though.
