Utah!

ya it is! I thought it was a leghorn, but her legs are too dark? my 5-year-old daughter has named her Parrot because her favorite place is on your shoulder, when i walk into the coop she's up there before I even see her coming!

Oh ya those legs are the wrong color for a Rock too......could be a clean faced EE.?

That's what I'm wondering. It seems like I've seen something else that looked like that, too. Can't think what, now......

Colsgirls, I love the chicks! That's cute that the white one likes to perch like that. My BO likes to be on my shoulder sometimes when I'm walking around to do chores. It's getting kind of interesting, now that she's not so little anymore. Hmm......

Ha! at least they don't poop quite as often... ish...

Yeah, I bet that is a leghorn/ee cross.

I thought really hard about the webcam (still am, actually). Honestly, I didn't expect much to happen until tomorrow. I am babysitting a friend's 3 kids, and getting over there to set it up would be really difficult. Plus, the teacher has her classroom all torn up for their "animal day" today (how appropriate that they'd choose today to be interesting!). To get to the internet cable would be difficult. On the other hand, I *DID* buy that USB extension cord..... Hmmm. I think I'm still a bit short on length.

So let me tell you my egg nightmare. I really wanted some sizzles and some more true rumpless araucanas. I bought 15 sizzle eggs on BYC. Then I bought a mix of Polish frizzles and araucanas as well. Just enough eggs to fill my bator. The Frizzle Polish lady emails me said she was going to give me a refund because her hens had quit laying. She did so I bought some more eggs from another Araucana breeder. The lady had so many sizzle eggs that she sent me 32 eggs. I hurt my hand badly and ended up in the Er getting stitches and bones set, so I didn't pick up the eggs at the post office on Friday. Saturday morning I was there when they opened standing in line to get my eggs when hubby called. said my eggs had been delivered. I had a couple of errands to run so I didn't go back home. When I got home took a pain pill so I was a bit fuzzy. I opened the eggs and realized that they weren't the araucana eggs The polish frizzle lady felt so bad she sent me 9 polish eggs. Hubby had no way of knowing as these eggs were not expected.. Crap the post office is closed until Tuesday and I have too many eggs for my incubator, I set the eggs I have on Sunday. Cristy from Shadowbrook is going to loan me another incubator. I don't know if the eggs will even be viable as they have been sitting at the post office since Friday and I'm told that Araucanas don't hatch well because of the lethal gene. It is going to be interesting. Then just after my chicks hatch we are takinga 10 day Alaska cruise. I haven't informed my daughter yet that she is chick sitting as I don't know if any of the eggs will hatch. Hand is doing better. it was my left hand and doesn't hurt so much so I'm off codene, Kind of like a comedy of errors. I wasn't even going to do hatching. My hubby sat the incubator at IFA and thought we would have fun. So time will tell if I am successful or have a broken heart.

I am just back from the post office. I now have my eggs. The people i bought them from really know how to ship eggs they were really wrapped. The funny part was me trying to get them unwrapped with one hand and a big bandage cast on my other hand. its hard to be careful when you are so clumsy. I put them directly into the incubator. I figured they had sat long enough at the post office. Time will tell hoe this goes

Never heared of that. But i am bran new to chickens. Still learning. Im interested in a sizzle if they do hatch for you. Im also looking for a Easter EE or something that lays blue or green. We can have 6 chickens no roosters. I also have no idea how old these guys are either. They were given to us as older chicks.

I have an EE for sale right now. I purchased too many in January. She was hatched Jan 17 so should be laying soon if your interested, I also have a Barnvelder which lays the chocolate colored eggs she hatched in Feb. and a Jersey Giant pullet that was hatched in March

What can I say? We Cheeseheads love our Packers.

I am SO HAPPY this little silver baby is doing so much better. I started to tear up.
As a side note, today Howard and I are celebrating our 16th anniversay! That's why he spoiled me with a movie, Olive Garden and Cold Stone. (now I have a belly as big as Raji did when she was first hatched! Haha)
Lisa, I hope you have another good hatch! Can't wait to visit you this week and see all the new babies. I am going to incubate some duck eggs for Sierra starting he end of his week, but then maybe I'll use my gift cert. and get some more hatching eggs. Hmm, maybe I'll order Deleware eggs?

Who would have known how much of a hornet's nest Sasha opened up by considering Delaware eggs? Good news is that my oldest has claimed the incubator for a duckling hatch who should be in the incubator for 28 days (they should be here around Friday) so there won't be any Delawares for a while. This will give time to get your flocks down to add another. (still a gamble if she will even do Delawares) She did say "at least I know they will sell"

.

Thanks everyone for all the anniversary wishes. I hope I can make it another 16 years but the way it's going, I may be replaced with chickens.

Kidasoto, I have a pure white ee that looks just like that, just not clean faced. So white is definitely possible, esp if it is a leghorn or rock cross. You will really know if it lays green or blue. If it lays white or tan, you may never know for sure.

Sphinx, good luck on those, esp the olive egg :) I feel panicked, I do not want to have any chicks hatched later than first part of July....want to get them outside before the cool starts end of September. I am in desperate "do I have everybody I want for this year??" mode. Still thinking on that Delaware Birdguy. Will let you know :)

Sundance, glad you got your eggs, good luck! I really hope it all works ok. Crazy, some just make it through anything, I bet lots of them will be fine. At least they are wrapped really good. That helps alot! Keep us posted!
