Utah!

G'morning all. Got up early to go to Sam's Club at 7, then when I got there I realized it was not Saturday and they did not open til 10 today with no early business member hours.

Dang! I could have slept another 2 hours.
Argh! I hate getting old. I cannot remember anything anymore, not even what day of the week it is lol. So I will have to go back later. Also woke up to sump pumps running in our crawl space, the ground water is high from irrigation and watering around us. Nice start to an otherwise nice day!
Looking at my Wheatens this morning, my little blotchy one like Daloorashens, only lighter blue , I believe is a Blue Wheaten Rooster in the making. Going to get that one on KSL this week, if anybody is interested let me know!
Birdguy you need another Ameraucana roo? Let me know. Still hoping to see a pic of "The Fonz" soon

His sister is not growing very fast at all, I cannot believe how small this batch of Lavender's are......Sphinx yours turning red yet? Mine is not at all. Cynthia, my Australorp was sitting in the nest this morning, and she squatted for me for the first time when I reached in........soon.......
Sasha I do believe, I am 99 percent sure, my little Villain is a roo, red wattles this morning....very cuckoo, very frizzled, very cute. If you are looking to rehome Rocco and you want another rooster, he is yours. Awfully stinking cute, very very sad, I was excited to get a frizzly baby! I will keep him here a little longer to be that extra 1 percent positive.
Hattie, let us know how your hatch is going! Excited to hear. Hope to get another baby from you if you have enough for sale. I am still hoping to get my son a WCBlack somehow someway. It is funny though how you cannot tell at all what they will be for the first few weeks, I do not know how the heck the hatcheries can tell to sell them as the right colors. No wonder my WCBlack I bought ended up blue

Question for you all: Are you supposed to trim toenails on your chickens? I noticed my orp I took to Joybells had loooong claws yesterday. I never noticed that they get longer as they get older, I figured they would keep them worn down with all that scratching.
You need one of my sizzles for sure. More than half or them are frizzling already. By the time I get back I will have some nice curley chickens. I have a question about the frizzle type of chickens, Can they be shown and what do you show them under.

BTW you are not old if you can go to raging waters,

I voted for you loved the picture. U r in the lead. I'm finishing my packing today. Taking the chicks over to daughters. She also is tending a litter of kitten. My other friend is taking some kittens. The neighbors are tending the dogs chickens and garden. Its hard to get around the house dragging my oxygen cord. I took it off last night and went outside for a minute to pick some lettuce and peas for dinner. Bad idea. The chickens miss me and all ran up to the gate to say hello. I gave them a squash which they loved. I m going to miss all my animals. Hubby can't stand the thoughts of leaving his dogs. I told him its not permanent its only two weeks. We do worry about the fireworks as we will be gone over 4th. We have great neighbors they will take care of things for us
Have a GREAT trip! I'm sure all the critters will be fine, but will be happy to see you when you get home. :) We expect pictures when you get back! :)

my dear Lisa, I do believe we are going to rehome Rocco, who has gotten huge, by the way! He's about twice the size of Elvis. I think Elvis is bantam, but Rocco sure doesn't look like it! So when you are ready, we'd be happy to take your little Villain. :) Neither of our two have definite pink (yet?) and the black chick is still keeping us guessing! I'm evening considering he/she may be splash, because a pure white feather has started sprouting in the middle of his/her back. Hmm. The blue looks cuckoo more than ever, though...but no matter how much we handle her, she isn't what I'd call friendly. She acts like we're going to kill her every time we hold her. Brat.

If it makes you feel better, I had no idea what day yesterday was. I was a whole 2 days behind on the date! I do have an easier time keeping track when the girls are in school, but I like having my kids home for the summer, so I'm not too anxious for the new school year to start!

Joybells glad your girl settled in. She was so worried in the car. Not cheeping real loud, but more of the little fluttery noises, constant little twittering all the way to you. It was hard to say goodbye to her, I almost changed my mind so many times this morning! Did the EE Lay today? I was wondering if she got stressed out and kept her egg in......I know she was thinking about laying when I grabbed her this morning. Poor girl! Nice to meet you and your folks !

She didn't lay anything yesterday, but I got an egg from her today! :D My first egg in two or three years!
I'm a little worried about Lola, I haven't seen her show any interest in her water. The other two were really eager to drink as soon as possible. I don't know if she's drinking anything when I'm not watching, but she seems to be acting fine, she's very active running and pecking at things and eating grasshoppers so maybe I'm just over reacting. :/ Does anyone know how to tell if a chicken is dehydrated? I wish I knew what I could do to get her to drink something...

Keep dipping her beak in the water, it should help. Just pick her up and point her head down and dip :) Hope she does ok! She was very attached to my son, I wonder if she misses him :(

Ohhhhhh I sat and watched. Did not do a slide. I went around the lazy river twice though! The bumpity business on the slide does not interest me anymore :D:D

have a good trip! hope you get lots of nice fresh air and feel better soon!

Sasha---will watch this one a week or two more then let you know. 1 percent is not Zero percent, right? optimism.....:/

Got a pm from the gal on the photo contest...guess what the prize is? Ey, I will give you one and only one guess.

The contest ends tonight. I think I may win because of my friends here. And did I say, guess what the prize is? Yep, eggs! 6 olive egger eggs. Now, with only 6 eggs in the bator, I am thinking it wouldn't hurt to put some more Showgirls in the bator, would it? My only bator still up here, and still have three baby showgirls going strong. Candled them this morning. I thought they were all nice sized eggs, one is a pullet..Oooooo, that makes me upset! The little ones will hatch then not grow! I had to let sundance know this morning that her little white one didn't make it. I noticed she wasn't growing. What is up with that? I've had a few of those this year.
I hope red's little one has taken off in growth now. Will probably be a small hen..yep, it has to be a girl!

That is funny, I have the olive eggs in my new bator now. I also have lavender Auracanas, can't wait for those some more sizzles and a few bonus eggs, the most beautiful egg I have ever seen its shiny chocolate and huge. I hope it hatches I am going to keep that chick. We;ll see how this new bator deos. It has temperature alarms and humidity alarms and my house sitter is coming in 3 x daily . Can't do anything about it now. I am going to candle tonight and see if I can see anything. Question, how do you candle those really dark eggs, I'm sitting on the couch, on my oxygen just trying to keep my lungs from getting stressed. If my lungs get so bad that I can't go tomorrow I am going to sue those guys in civil court for the cost of my trip and suffering and anything else I can think of. I don't mind guns, I have a concealed carry permit but I'm not stupid enough to fire a gun around dry brush. Ok I'm done ranting, Sorry

Ok so I am bored. I have to sit on the couch on oxygen while my house keeper is cleaning and packing for me. sucks I snuck into the incubator and took some pictures to share
eggs in the incubatorrPretty olive egg
Huge dark egg

Dark egg size compared to the other normal size eggs.
BTW when I was taking these picture my housekeeper who is african wanted to take it home and eat it. Said it looked tasty I told him no not this egg, I asked the breeder if it could be double yolked? she said no that she has one hen that lays those huge eggs.
