Utah!

Cynthia I wonder why those little showgirls struggle so bad? I'm so sorry.

Sasha thank you! I have been so sad since selling my Ameraucana but I needed to because she was so loud and started bulling my little Cochin. She was my only standard size bird. I'm grateful I was able to find a good home for her. Her eggs were medium size. So I thought I might as well have a bantam.
You sure you want to wait until spring?:) How about I buy some eggs from one of these breeders and hatch them. Then keep two and give you the rest. :) Would you have a place for them? If not I could wait until spring. I'm just going to be really missing my blue eggs. :/
I'm so happy you will be breeding bantams!

Lisa, will they be about the same size as the ones I have?

Cynthia sorry about the baby.

I can't believe you all keep getting more chicks...All I want is for mine to start laying...Although they are really cute as babies.

I swear unless I am on the computer constantly I am so far behind I can't catch up. so, I hope you are all doing well.
Everyone have a great day!

Yes they are older, when I was there, she had them all together, they varied in size a little but not too much. I think she had presold some but then they did not come get them or something? Seems like she said something about that a little while back on the Idaho thread. If you want more girls let me know. :D

Wow, you guys were very, very busy while I was off camping.

Sundance, I'm glad you're out of the hospital, but you need to take it easy woman or you'll end up right back in there!

Red, I'm sorry about the dog attacks. I'd definitely call animal control. What a heartbreak.

Iain, you are an awesome animal lover.

I would love, love love some more BCM pullets. I've decided that one is just not enough. I think I'll try to wait though, I can't bear to spend $25 on a single chicken.

So, we went camping up at Monte Cristo. The first morning, dh turns to me as we're waking up and asks if he heard a rooster crowing. I told him I was sure he was mistaken, it had to be some kid screaming (we were in a group site, and there was 50+ kids in our group). But, an hour or so later, sure enough, I realized that the people next to us had brought a RIR rooster. They scooped him up and were carrying him around as a pet. I thought it was hilarious.

My opinion, the best birds I have seen. And I have hatched eggs from her they are really big and dark brown. All her birds are quite lovely! She is super picky and culls out anything not conforming for her FBCM flock.....Check her out. Let me know if you want any

Thanks, Jill! I'm happy with my plans, too. Next year the plan is to have a good foundation in place for wheaten/blue wheaten Ameraucanas, crele & barred Wyandottes (with a couple partridge hens) and white crested Polish. All bantam, of course. After I've got a well established flock of those, I'd also love, love, love to breed bantam mille fleur/calico cochins.
If you order eggs now and hatch them and keep what you want and I buy the rest, that would give me a head start for next year. :) It just means I'll have to rearrange my little flock sooner, rather than later.
Do you want a couple red bantam cochin pullets? :) One is frizzled. They are about 16 weeks.

i,ll have duncles in 2 weeks

It seems like someone on here was saying a while ago that they were breeding some bantams, including some bantam OE's. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I thought they said they had either some Wyandottes or Marans

Cynthia, so sorry your lost your baby. I was hoping she'd make it alright. Those Showgirls sure seem to be fragile little things.

Okay, so that's three votes for emus, one for a mule/donkey, and one for an electric fence. I like all of these suggestions. My boyfriend does have a horse on his property that will stomp dogs, but the problem is that he's in the corral. Maybe when we put in the fencing, we'll have to include the corral as part of the chickens' range area. And I'll be perfectly honest here - if I ever get somewhere with enough space, I am really considering getting guinea fowl. Have been for a little while. They're good watchdogs and territorial. I'm still trying to talk the boyfriend into a couple of those geese, as well. He seems pretty unimpressed by the whole idea, but I did suggest to him that if we didn't want geese, we could get emus, instead

Lisa, I'm going to try and get pictures of the three Amer's I got from Cynthia to compare with yours, if that sounds alright? One of them really has me nervous, but so far, I think they're all girls.

Oh forgot to give Cynthia my condolences on her baby.

Sundance, I'm trying very, very, very hard to ignore the fact that you'll have mille fleur duccles in two weeks. I just shouldn't have that knowledge.

Also, forgot to mention that I hatched a batch of Rebecca's BLRW on 2/6. I gave one cockerel to my next door neighbor. He started crowing this week, at 5.5 months old. He's been fertilizing eggs (or at least trying) for a good two-three weeks. I haven't seen any of her eggs to know if they're actually fertile or not though.

Huge picture overload..I am nervous about my first wheaton I kept..I got the other one back yesterday, she is a lot smaller, and has less color. Also, for fun, gave the girls plain yogurt today. They love it, and get it all over their faces. The little ones wondered what in the world it was. They wouldn't go near the plate, so I put in on the ground..that was much better for them. :)

yumm!

The NH loved it! This stuff is good for their gut once in a while.

My little white EE mix..lavender roo dad...wondered what?

My Silkie was the first to try it.

There is the the wheaton I kept..little Cotton is getting big. I am pretty sure she is a she.
Talking about the white Silkie

The wheaton I kept..girl? boy??

A lot more blue in this one. I couldn't get a picture of them together, this one is
mean to the other one.

A good shot of the back and tail

This is the one I got back yesterday..girl? :p

A lot less color in this one

Another shot of her back, and the little white EE, getting black spots..cute, it is
sooo sweet!

The one I got back

The one I first kept

The one I got back

Finally got a face shot of the one I got back yesterday

And one more shot of her back, the one I got back yesterday

Ok, so, you can't say I didn't get enough pictures to compare! LOL Help me decide? Too early still to tell??
I may be selling a rooster, or giving one away here soon.
